Will any Americans bring home Olympic tennis medals? Or will the world elite eclipse US hopes?

Well, DAMN, this poll turned out to be a BUST. Not because of the response rate, but rather because American tennis went belly up today at the Olympics.

Andy Roddick LOST to Fernando Gonzalez
Venus Williams LOST to Mary Pierce
Lisa Raymond LOST to Alicia Molik
Chanda Rubin LOST to Amelie Mauresmo
There will be no medal for American women in singles. D'oh!
Umm...BMan, you've forgotten Mardy Fish and Taylor Dent. I think the U.S. has a very good chance of capturing a bronze. Actually even gold is possible, with so many big guns fallen. I'd have to pick Moya vs Gonzalez for the gold medal match, but they're not invulnerable.
Whoops...didn't notice the Women in your previous post.

Yeah, I was more or less focused on the women, but I was also simultaneously dismissive of Dent and Fish.
I think Dent can beat Moya, but not Robredo. I don't think Fish can beat Youzhny (or Gonzalez for that matter).
But low and behold, it seems like EVERYONE is losing today.
No. 3 Moya is having a tough time with Karlovic
No. 8 Grosjean is tied up with Lopez
No. 10 Massu can't shake off Andreev
and
No. 15 Robredo is split with Berdych
Wouldn't it be crazy for Dent and Fish to meet for the Bronze...? If we're going to get a singles medal, it'll be Dent I think. He is ironically the player I was least happy to have on the team...
