Okay, this so nearly unrelated to sports I will keep it as brief as possible:

Has anyone seen the Orbit gum ad where they are courtside at a women's clay tennis match circa 1974?? The ad cracks me up so hard every time I see it! I can only imagine it's creators are specifically targeting contributors to this section of the message board.

A grunting women's match is going on behind the spokesmodel. A Billy Jean King-esque player (okay, she's a bit more svelte, but she does have dark hair) hits the dirt diving for a shot. The spokesmodel goes to her and in her quirky accent comments on how the player has been chewing Orbit gum. She "no doubt feels grimey" but giddily grins when asked how her teeth feel. The spokesmodel follows with the now classic line... "Fabulous!"

Is this an old ad - or a new one that is supposed to LOOK old???

The ad just started running here a week or so ago. It's made to look old to add a little kitsch flavor.

I think the ad's great, too! Shows you how popular women's tennis is right now, even without Anna K. or the Williams sisters in your commercial.

Speaking of Anna, I finally saw the video for Enrique's "Escape," and it's so hot when they make out on the bathroom sinks. Ha ha. I guess he got over not wanting to kiss her. (Rumor is they're actually dating now...?)
