Manny Ramirez drove in a run last night, his first hit and RBI since May 10, when a fractured finger put him on the DL. The Red Sox' 7-4 win against Cleveland, and the Yankee's 8-7 loss to Baltimore put Boston back at the top of the AL east by half a game. Woo-hoo?

Cleveland puts up 4-0 lead and 3 homers off Pedro and still loses the game..yikes

Manny looked horrible with that hair and messy unshaven look too. Has he decided to ever talk to the press yet ? And that was real upsetting Manny, waiting forever to get into the batters box each time you were at bat...real intimidating against your old team (NOT !)
Well maybe again this year Cleveland will make the playoffs and not Boston, just like last year ??

p.s. Whatever happened to Juan Gonzalez ????

Even though Manny's still experiencing pain in his finger, he has decided to go ahead and play with it, and the Red Sox couldn't be happier. Even if he's not 100%, his sheer presence in the lineup has to put a lot more fear in opposing pitchers' hearts than, say, the strikeout triplets of Brian Daubach/Tony Clark/Jose Offerman. The slumping Sox offense was in desperate need of the psychological boost that Manny provides. Come on, the opposing pitcher's gotta be thinking somewhere in the back of his mind, "Crap, maybe this is the at-bat where Manny breaks out." Actually, he hasn't been all that bad since returning. He got a hit in his first game plus a couple of real good at-bats, and he got a single and RBI in his 2nd game. I'm very, very happy that Manny's back.
