AND WITH GOOD REASON! In front of 35,000 at Fenway and a whining Curt Schilling, umpire Laz Diaz decides to overturn a banger at first in the top of the 9th. Schilling perhaps touched the bag, perhaps he didn't. The first base umpire called Julio Lugo safe, so he thought he didn't. It was quite close, and the benefit of the doubt has to go to the runner. Well, that is unless that doesn't sit over well with Curt Schilling.

Of course, since there are no other Devil Ray fans here, I can feel all the Boston fans ready to bash me. To them, I say go ahead. I'm tired of Curt Schilling. Way past tired of him... I'm sick of him. After he called Lou an idiot, I lost any and all respect for him. It will be fun to read the postgame quotes tonight!

I saw that tonight, too. It was a very strange play, indeed. Usually if the umpire has doubts, he'll ask for help. I never saw the 1B umpire ask for help. Then all of a sudden, they change the call. If I were Lou, I'd have gone nuts too. You knew the second they overruled the call, and cost the Rays a run, that Lou was going to get ejected.

And I agree with you. Schilling's act is tired. I was happy to see A-Rod blast one off of him Thursday night. But, being a Yankee fan, I'm biased.
