Anybody got an inside scoop on what
this is all about? If Hewitt did make inappropriate use of Aboriginal sites or ceremonies, shouldn't they be the ones suing, rather than McLeod?

Supposedly, McLeod's wife was best friends with Kim Clisters and so after Hewitt and Kim split and he took up with Cartwright things went bad between the couples for whatever reason. That's what the foreign press is reporting as the true background of the falling out between the two best mates.

Perhaps I can add a little from what has been reported locally, which incidentally has been quite a big item here.
McCleod who is aboriginal, or part aboriginal, has also produced a DVD which also includes part of the trip to Northern Territory with Hewitt. It was proposed that both DVD's would hit the market before Christmas. McLeod a football star here, but unknown overseas, would obviously not sell as well as Hewitt who is known, loved or disliked, internationally.I do not believe the current matter, listed for hearing before the court, has anything to do with the filming of sacred grounds, nor the fractured friendships with Kim Clijsters.
Enter the lawyers.
I believe that the instigators yet again are Hewitt's controlling parents. Always in the background, widely reported they led the sacking of Darren Cahill,Lleytons reduced schedule to concentrate on Davis Cup,the legal case against ATP and the broken engagement to Clijsters(Hewitts parents insisting that the wedding be held in Australia rather than Belgium and post marriage they would live here too).Additionally, they have fuelled Lleytons hate and distrust of the media.Glynn Hewitt was recently negotiating the renewal of the clothing contract with Nike and was talking Tiger Woods numbers with Nike. The talks became tough, nasty, difficult and vitriolic, and, in the end Nike walked away.
Hewitts parents, low profile, calculating and always smiling, simply join the long list (Jaeger,Pierce,Williams,Sharapova,Capriati,Gambill,Linetskaya et al) of interferring, dominating parents, all aboard the gravy train.
That is about all the gossip I have for today.

Can we skip the Hewitt drama for a minute and ask who would be happy spending a weekend in the sack with Llyeton?
Please weigh in...

To each his own but as far as "hot Aussies", give me Mark Phillipoussis ANYDAY! He might not be as talented or passionate about tennis as Hewitt but he's 1000 times hotter! Tall, dark, Greek and a hot body! The accent gives him even more points!

i agree with you playerten73 i'd take phine mark p. anyday over hewitt. as someone who used to work for nike, hewitt and his parents were seriously dreaming if they thought he was going to get a contract renewal anywhere close to tiger. he would have to be dominating the tennis world as agassi and sampras did and their contracts were no where near tiger's.

Personally, I can't think of a less attractive player "Down Under" (!) than Lleyton Hewitt...

I agree Kim! As far as the Aussies go, I'd opt for being in the middle of a Patrick Sandwich (Rafter and Cash) anytime... wink

This
recent article clears up some of the confusion about whether there was permission form McLeod for Hewitt to use the footage.
Not clear to me he had any authority to restrict the usage after he signed on in the first place. Bottom line is this looks more like a personal tiff that spilled over into the use of a previously agreed upon venture to get revenge for a personal cut by Hewitt of McLeod (not having him as best man at his wedding!?)
Regardless, the cute but scrawny Hewitt pales against the
bronze beauty of McLeod IMO.
I think they should both just dump the chicks, the wedding and the film and just go back to shacking up together. Hewitt could certainly do worst.

My de facto brother-in-law in Adelaide says this is all over the press in that town, pushing "less important issues" like the Iraq War to the back pages.
Imagine a black athlete here suing a white buddy who used a tour they took together of the Katrina devistation in New Orleans to promote himself. The TO scandal would pale.
I wonder what Hewitt's agency was thinking about.
