The River City Rascals. and independent Frontier League franchise in O'Fallon, Missouri are promoting their home game on June 2 as SPORTS CRIMINALS NIGHT. The Rascals selected this particular date to mark the 10th anniversary of O.J. Simpson's arrest on double homicide charges. Rascal broadcaster Phil Giubileo says: "The ballpark will be transformed into a virtual prison for the night, but we're making sure everyone will have a good time. It's not really meant to honor sports criminals. the idea is to poke fun at our culture."

Included in the promotion is a trivia contest, with the winner getting a trip to Jamaica. One fan--with the wining ticket--will have the opportunity to steal that prize from the contest winner. Additionally, there will be a dugout jail where one lucky fan per inning will be allowed to sit & fans can spend a dollar on a jailhouse meal (bread & water.)

Ah, for the days of disco demolition night and midgets at the plate!
