Does Billy Donovan still have his number?

Former Gaytor player and team assistant convicted for trying to sell a pound of cocaine.

QUOTE
Several character witnesses spoke on Parker's behalf Friday, including Gators coach Billy Donovan.

. . .

Parker and Farrah Stephanie Moise were arrested Dec. 7, 2004, for allegedly trying to sell about a pound of cocaine to an undercover Gainesville police officer.

. . .

Parker was Donovan's first recruit at Florida. He played for the Gators from 1997 to 2001 and finished his career with 579 points.

He took over as Donovan's special assistant in September 2003 after a two-year minor league basketball career. His duties included helping run summer camps and assisting in recruiting.

It's confirmed. Canes and Gaytors to play in '08 and '13.

QUOTE
Miami leads the series 28-25. UM has not lost to Florida since 1985, having won the last six games, including victories in three consecutive years from 2002-2004.
Bring it on, Croc-Girl. Ready to lose your seventh in a row? tongue.gif

News flash...Germans bomb Pearl Harbor. Lincoln shot. rolleyes.gif

You left out the part about why he tried to sell the coke: His mom's house was being foreclosed and he was desperate for quick cash. He's not a career dealer. That's why he got house arrest.

I'm sure that's why this is so shocking to you: just a pound and caught on his first try. That's not how they do it "at the 'U'". tongue.gif

So they finally talked Choker into it? Last time this topic was reported, he was opposed to the series' renewal.

Hey KWG,

Have you made your plans to watch UM in the NCAA tourney?

Oh, wait...oops...

Oscar Meyer won't suspend gun-totin' Gaytors.

QUOTE
Florida football Coach Urban Meyer said Monday night he will not suspend players Kenneth Tookes, Andre Caldwell and Reggie Lewis for their roles in a gun incident last month.

Tookes admitted to firing the gun, which was registered to and owned by former Gator cornerback Dee Webb. Police confiscated four of Webb's guns from the scene.

Meanwhile, Meyer said he feels sure the behavior problems of star recruit Percy Harvin will end when he becomes a Gator this summer.

Harvin, a Virginia wide receiver some recruiting services listed as the nation's No. 1 recruit, was suspended by the Virginia High School League for repeated misconduct as a football and basketball player.
Love that tight-ship that Oscar's running up there. rolleyes.gif

Oh, for crying out loud, would you two just sleep together and get it over with??? Geez, you two are like an old married couple -- fight all the time and never have sex. wink

Please. It was an accidental discharge of a registered weapon. No laws were broken, no team rules were broken. But someone needs to take a firearms safety course.

Besides, KWG, don't you know a thing or two about "accidental discharges"? wink

A different take on the U(niversity) of F(irearms).

QUOTE
Meyer is just like all the rest of college football's big-time coaches. When it comes to doling out discipline, he talks big and carries a small stick.

What was Meyer's punishment for his \"Gainesville Gunslingers\" -- the three current UF football players who recently were implicated for riding around town with loaded guns in their car and firing off an assault weapon into an occupied dwelling? Meyer said Tuesday he has dealt with the three players -- Kenneth Tookes, Andre Caldwell and Reggie Lewis -- internally and now is \"moving on.\"

Here's my three guesses as to what the in-house punishment will be:

1. Monthly allowance from Tank Black trust fund cut in half.

2. One week of PlayStation restriction.

3. Assault rifles confiscated and replaced with semiautomatic Glocks.

What a bummer this must be for UF (University of Firearms) fans, who have been bragging incessantly about their tough-talking coach and his demands that players live up to a certain code of conduct. The first chance Meyer gets to publicly put the hammer down and what does he do? He privately doles out some unknown penalty.

QUOTE
Yes, dear, I read that, too.

I ask Bianchi this - Cheney aims a registered weapon at a man, misfires, and shoots him in the face. There are no calls for punishment.

But a football player (who DOESN'T aim at a person), handles a registered weapon, which accidentally goes off, in the direction of an unoccupied room, and no one is injured. Yet Bianchi wants his head?

GJ or KWG - have either of you heard from BikeJocks? He's gone Bermuda Triangle...just worried about the boy, that's all.

Also, does he know about the UF-AU gathering? Not that we have any extra room at this point, unless someone brings ANOTHER RV!

BJ is on his annual Outsports respite. He'll resurface next football season. I'll make sure he knows about the Google-rific RV party. biggrin.gif

Okay, guys, work on it and SOMEDAY, if you work hard, you can be Florida State. 'til then, keep wishing.

SoFla, please refer to my post above. F$U--2 rings; Miami--5 rings.

And when did you become a Semen-hole? eek!

I was a Seminole as an undergrad. They gave me a Bachelor's degree. But since I was a grad student at Michigan State, and grad school takes a lot (lot, lot, lot, lot) longer than the undergrad days, I'm a bit more Spartan than Seminole. But still root for FSU to take out the Gators and those pretenders from Coral Gables.

BTW, it seems to me that both UF and FSU had teams in the NCAA basketball tournament (FSU women, UF men and women), as did the USF women and, for that matter, the FAU women. Wow, something to look forward to -- maybe someday, you can be the basketball power of FAU. Tee hee hee.

Womens sports smack??? (No offense, GJ. wink )

F$U men--out in the NIT round of 16.
UM men--still going strong in the quarters.

Oh, we need something to while away the summer months. And besides, I want to be nice, and don't want to talk about one of our baseball teams being 18-1, and one getting swept at home by Florida. Hmm...who'd that be??
KeyWest Guy
You really want to do baseball smack?

Answer this question, and we shall start:

How many CWS titles do Miami, F$U and UF have respectively? Once that is answered, we shall commence the baseball smack.

I'll start--Miami has four. tongue.gif

Okay. UM has four. FSU and UF have none. And as a historian, nobody appreciates history more than I.

Now let's talk about the present. One of these teams got swept in a three game series. At home. The other two did not. Which one would that be??

All three of them went to bowl games. One won their bowl game, one won their conference championship, was invited to a BCS bowl and played a very close game. One lost 40-3 to LSU.

One had a men's and women's team invited to the NCAA basketball tournament. One had a men's team go to the NIT and the women's team go to the NCAA's. One had both teams do no better than the NIT.

Viewed in this context, Jamie, I think we should give the boy a break about the NIT. He needs SOMETHING to cheer himself up..... smile.gif
