Here are the total number of bonus points that each person received. I did not receive picks from four of the regulars that normally submit picks – hopefully this was your oversight and not mine. I was out of town all last week and did not do a very good job of keeping up with this. Let me know if anyone believes there is a problem and I will double check my records. Good job to the 3 that got all three picks right – as you will see shortly these bonus picks affected the overall standings some and should make for an exciting finish with the bowl pick-em game.

Well with the regular season completed I would like to take the time to congratulate UW on winning the regular season!!!!!! Yippee … but you know what they say if you can’t perform in the post season it doesn’t mean squat so don’t start celebrating quite yet. It is a great honor to have outperformed your fellow outsporters up to this point but the real distiniction will only come if you can hold off the rest of the boys through bowl season. Maybe UW starting celebrating a bit to early last week because he missed all three games and allowed the competition to close in on him. Unfortunately many of the top contenders couldn’t/didn’t take advantage. MiamiDr made a big move picking up 2 bonus points and therefore moved himself into second place closing the gap between him and first to a measly 1%. Other big movers were seanboy moving into 5th (from 10th), cowboyhuskerfan moving into a tie for 8th (from 11th) and itsplaytyme moving from 14th up to a tie for 11th. Glancing over the standings one can see that the race is tight throughout. Can GoldenStateDude hold off the perennial last place picking of sparty on or will the sparty party FINALLY stop bringing up the rear (no pun intended)? And just look at the run for the top 10 – spots 5 through 10 are only seperated by .9%. It is clear that the bowl game picks will decide exactly where everyone will finish in this race. Stay tuned for an exciting finish and remember GO GREEN – beat Fresno St. (just a side note I can not be happier with my spartans coming to my area of the country to take on the bulldogs of Fresno – a spartan holiday it is sure to be with the basketball team in the bay area on the 29th and the footballers here (including my boy smoker – excuse me for a moment, ok all better now) here on the 31st. The bay area will be painted green and white for the holidays!)

Well the bowls are here and there is more controversy than anyone could have possibly imagined. There are some interesting match-ups that should be very exciting to watch and then there are some real snoozers (in my opinion) but either way 50 teams got the distinction of traveling for the holidays (and then there are at least 4 that got the a major shaft – Hawaii, UCLA, Wake Forest, Ole Miss). The way I was planning on handling this is I will list all 25 bowl games here today with the date they will be played on and you can send me your picks however you want. If you prefer to send all picks prior to the first game then that is fine – the other option is to send your pick for each game before the kickoff of that game (i.e. say sending 3 picks by the 17th and then some on the 24th and then the rest on the 30th). As long as I have the picks to the games before they kick off I will count them. Also since things change to due injury/ineligibility you can always email me and change a pick prior to kickoff (because a lot can happen in three weeks). I have enjoyed bringing this game to all of you this season, hopefully you have enjoyed it. Also since this is the last session of the year feel free to include constructive criticism in your emails – let me know how I could make it better or what you thought I did a good job on – all insight is welcome and appreciated. So without any further blabbing the bowl games are as follows:
NEW ORLEANS BOWL -- Dec. 18, 8 pm
North Texas - Colorado State
GMAC BOWL -- Dec. 19, 8 pm
East Carolina Pirates – Marshall Thundering Herd
TANGERINE BOWL -- Dec. 20, 7:30 pm
N.C. State Wolfpack - Pittsburgh Panthers
LAS VEGAS BOWL -- Dec. 25, 3:30
Utah Utes - USC Trojans
SEATTLE BOWL -- Dec. 27, 4 pm
Stanford Cardinal - Georgia Tech Yellowjackets
INDEPENDENCE BOWL -- Dec. 27, 7:30 pm
Iowa State Cyclones – Alabama Crimson Tide
GALLERYFURNITURE.COM BOWL -- Dec. 28, 1:30pm

INSIGHT.COM BOWL -- Dec. 29, 5:30 pm

HUMANITARIAN BOWL -- Dec. 31, 12:30 pm
Louisiana Tech - Clemson Tigers
SUN BOWL -- Dec. 31, 2 pm

North Carolina Tarheels – Auburn Tigers
COTTON BOWL -- Jan 1, 11 am
Oklahoma Sooners – Arkansas Razorbacks
OUTBACK BOWL -- Jan. 1, 11 am
Ohio State Buckeyes - South Carolina Gamecocks
GATOR BOWL -- Jan. 1, 12:30 pm
Florida State Seminoles - Virginia Tech Hokies
CITRUS BOWL -- Jan. 1, 1 pm
Michigan Wolverines - Tennessee Volunteers
The following games are the big ones of the year therefore they should hold a little more weight so each of the BCS games is worth TWO games – get them all right and you just picked up 8 wins but get them all wrong and 8 losses can quickly drop you from contention.
Fiesta Bowl -- Jan. 1, 4:30 pm
Oregon Ducks – Colorado Buffaloes
Sugar Bowl -- Jan. 1, 8:30 pm
Illinois Fighting Illini – LSU Tigers
Orange Bowl -- Jan. 2, 8 pm
Maryland Terrapins – Florida Gators
Rose Bowl -- Jan. 3, 8 pm
Miami Hurricanes – Nebraska Cornhuskers
The final tiebreaker of the year is to predict the final score in the Granddaddy of them all the Rose Bowl.
If there is a tie in the final standings after all bowl games are done the winner will be determined by the better record in the bowl games!

I have received a pick for tonights game from the following people:
UW, MiamiDr, Gamecock, seanboy, Go Monica, ATL, Jock, Zeno, cowboyshuskrfan, Georgevikingfan, Itsplaytym, Mike Stickney, Aaron Abraham, IlliniFSUfan, Goldenstatedude, Sparty On.
With the game starting very shortly I am going to divulge some info. The overwhelming pick for tonights game is Colorado State, actually it was unanimous. Like this is a surprise. Dude I am sorry but if you can't win half of your games you don't belong in a god damn bowl -- i really don't f-ing care if you won your lame ass conference. On pure principles the mean green from N. Texas should have rejected the bid and let Hawaii, Ole Miss or UCLA have it. But that just my opinion.

Even though North Texas won its conference, don't NCAA rules say that to be bowl eligible, a team must have six wins vs. D-1 opponents? North Texas was 5-6. In past years, some conferences have been unable to fulfill their bowl allotment because not enough teams finished at least 6-5.

So far, guessing 50% correct. Colorado State was a gimme. But, I did pick East Carolina to beat Marshall. OOOPS! Who'd thought East Carolina would blow a 30 point lead? Guess that is why Marshall is called the THUNDERING HERD!

Most people are 2-0 right now but there are 3 that did pick ECU so they are 1-1.
GoldenStateDude -- Are you aware that you missed the UNC - Auburn game and the Florida St - Virginia TEch game. Just thought i would make sure!

With the Utes of Utah beating USC yesterday that will assure that nobody will be perfect for the bowl season. There are currently 3 members that are 3-1 and the majority of the rest are 2-2. There is one person that is currently 1-3, no one is 0-4.
There are still a two out there that don’t have their picks to me for tomorrows games yet -- don’t forget guys (UW and ATL Jock).
