I just looked at the box score for Stanford's win over BYU over the weekend.
Stanford's quarterback for the game, Jeff Edwards, went 10-23 for 25 yards!! How is that possible in an 18-14 victory? He averaged 1.1 yard per attempt.
Does anyone know - is this some kind of record?

Hi Cyd,
I was a little confused as well (by the way it's
TRENT not Jeff)
He had 10 completions - according to the stats, here's the individual breakdown:
+1
+3
+2
-6
+6
0
+5
0
+4
+10
One other 8-yard completion was negated by a penalty

Yes, Cyd, the hiring of offensive guru Buddy Teevens has produced this wonderful outing for a freshman QB. However,Luke Powell (wide receiver) had a 31-yard pass in the game. Altogether, Stanford had its worst passing game ever with 56 yards. The previous low was 62 passing yards against California in 1984. This game is after we broke another school and Pac 10 record --- a year turnaround (for the worst) from 9-3 to 2-9 (that's seven games negative turnaround)...
But we are 2-0, the first time in a long time that Buddy has had a winning record in his Division 1-A head coaching career (he won all of like 15 games in 5 years at Tulane). The Cardinal head to Husky Stadium where Stanford hasn't won since I was 5 and the none of the current players weren't born (1975).
