After a rebuilding season that ended on a positive note, FSU's QB situation is still not 100% locked in, although last year's redshirt freshman stater Chris Rix is certainly in the lead to retain his position. Chris is 6'4", is from Soutrhern California, has great hair (unlike his balding predecessor), is on the student advisory council, is reported to be down to earth, and that wristband is in honor of his mother, who died when Chris was 7. And if you take a closer look, you might catch that Chris is half-Filipino. Good luck to #16 this upcoming season.

ANd he came close to getting benched for it. But he did improve - he started all twelve games, never having taken a game snap and having had only half of the snaps in camp as Boldin was still challenging him for the job. Only 13 INTs for the entire season, spread pretty evenly. The 24 TDs broke out 8 in the 1st half of the season and 16 in the 2nd. The coaches opened it up more in the second half and his attempts, completions and yardage in the last 6 was 60% or more higher than in the previous games.

So, a stronger and more assured finish (including the Gator Bowl victory over the Hokies) portends well, but there's no room for complacency.
