As much as Craig perturbs me sometimes, I think he probably has the most realistic poll thus far. I like his groupings and agree with putting UT in the first grouping and dropping UGA to the second; apparently, he understands the injuries that UT had last year and the defections and problems UGA has had during the off-season.

Hell, I would probably agree with Alabama being in the third group because they still have a few of the players they purchased in Memphis and other locations in Tennessee.

No Wisconsin on the list? No surprise from Craig James -- this is the same idiot who claimed UW to be "the worst team ever to play in the Rose Bowl" -- right! tell that to #6 ucla who lost to the 11-1 Badgers 38-31.

But West Virginia's there ... gonna be a great showdown in Morgantown on August 30!!

Yup, still no Nebraska. They'll either reappear in the rankings or disappear completely early in the season. 3 of their first 4 games are on national TV at home against #24 Oklahoma St., at home against Penn State and on national TV on a Thursday night game at Southern Miss. Should be interesting. Let's kick this season off.

Hey Guys:

Yeah, Craig James is much more realistic on his polls than most have been, and I agree with several of his choices, although I think he overlooked a few teams, but he hasn't overlooked any teams that most haven't already. His Big Ten predictions are very close to being right on in my book. I disagree with some of his SEC picks, but y'all will see that when my SEC picks are shown on here next week. As far as Nebraska, they no longer deserve to be ranked in the pre-season, they are going to have to prove themselves again, and they will have an early chance going against a very strong Oklahoma State team. If they can pass that test, then you will probably see them jump into the Top 25. As far as Wisconsin, they don't deserve to be in the Top 25.

Craig James...yum. Who the heck cares who he picks.

I also like the picks, and not just because he has my Mountaineers ranked. I think he's right on the money with KSU - especially when you look at their schedule. And I think all the controversy at Ohio State is going to hurt them a bit.

Fantastic concept, the grouping idea. It makes so much sense that I'm surprised I've never seen someone do it before. And I have to say that I agree with him for the most part in his choices within the groupings. I could easily 8 of his first 10 in Group 1 winning the title (sorry Tenn, Pitt). And I do share his concern for all the Group 2 teams, although I think I'd put Maryland and Va Tech in Group 1.

Craig James = Creep!

He's an SMU boy, but what a babe. I love his saying "a W [win] is a W [win]". He knows more about college football than the idiotic Lee Corso could ever wish to know.

Craig is quite the fertile one. I think he has sired 5 kids. I'm betting he wears boxers.

The thing that I agree with him the most is about Alabama. Too many polls have them ranked fairly high and I can't see how they can overcome all the off season problems that they've had to really do all that well.

I can see them finishing in the top 25 but not that high in the polls.

And yes, I agree with the comment about Lee Corso. The guy is a yutz!
