How nice for my team to come visit me out here in SoCal.
Anyone else coming to the game? It's Labor Day Monday @ 5pm PST at the Coliseum...and it will be the only college game on national TV that night.
USC is picked 19th and 20th in the Coach's/AP polls. Auburn isn't ranked, but has the points for #27-ish.

AU T - has Tommy T made a decision between Campbell or Cobb?
With Cobb a senior he'd maybe be thought to have the edge, but apparently it's an all-new offenseive scheme (and simplified from a decision making standpoint) so would it be far to say whoever grasps it best gets the nod?

Tuberville has said that Cobb is the leading candidate. It remains to be seen.
Personally, I wish Campbell would voluntarily leave the program...unless Petrino can teach him how to through a spiral more than 20 mph.
USC will win if they can pressure Cobb out of the game. If Campbell plays, it will most likely be because Cobb gives up a couple of turnovers.
The crisis of confidence situation at QB will have heavy input into who wins the USC-AU game. And what about this little factor; USC's pathetic running game vs. Auburn's suffocating run defense?
As in all "first game of the year" contests, one of the things I always look to is Time of Possession. I have no qualms saying that whomever owns the clock will own this game.

Hopefully Auburn will have more of a running game this year than we did last year, which will make the quarterback’s job easier, so Campbell and/or Cobb might be much more successful than they were last year. We’ve always been known as Running Back U, so it was strange not to have much of a running game at all last year (except Carnell Williams’ performance against Georgia, but then he got hurt early against Bama and we went down the tubes).
I’ll only be in the Coliseum in spirit, unfortunately, wasn’t up to making the trek out that way for the game. I’ll be watching it at Jocks and Jills 10th Street in Atlanta, if any other Auburn (or SEC) Outsporters want to join us.

We were supposed to go out there but business kept the partner from going so we are going to be watching it at the lake with a bunch of other Auburn supporters.
Per the paper this morning, Campbell had more reps with the first team than Cobb did yesterday. An interesting note, our prized # 1 in the state QB from last year left the team and may be back. Don't know if he will left for personal reasons.

Do you guys ever remember us playing well in an opening game vs. an average or good team? I honestly can't. I know history means nothing in situations like this one, but it just seems like we always are slow out of the gate in that first game.
ATL Jock, I'd definitely join y'all if I were going to be in town. If the locals will let me, I'll be watching from some pub or bar on Prince Edward Island or Cape Breton while I'm on vacation.

I'll be there. Should be a good game! Although SC is ranked, there are a lot of question marks on the team and right now and we experiencing a lot of injuries in fall camp.
If any of the Auburn fans on the Board that are coming to the game and have questions about LA or need game day info, let me know. Also check out USCFootball.com or Wearesc.com for some latest info on their message boards.
