Is it just me or is this season the most unusual ever? With most teams playing 12 games and some with 13 and more possible we have a whole new system coming into place.
Now we start a long weekend with games every day for the next five days. Feels like Bowl Season.

Not to mention the games starting so early. Texas A&M playes their first game Saturday and classes haven't even started yet. I can understand that if you were playing in one of the classics, but not a regular season game.

Starting before the students are back is not all that uncommon, especially for schools on the quarter system. Most of those schools don't start classes until late Sept., when teams have 3 or 4 games under their belt!

Way to GO BLUE! Great game against the Huskies and thank God Brabbs finally found his boots! Now, over to Berkeley to watch Cal play Baylor and then to drink some beer with the Fog. Saturdays are made of this! (Smiley impossible to suppress.)

I read that with the calendar falling so that there's an extra weekend after Labor Day, the NCAA allowed an extra game on the schedule for this year and next. Or something like that.
Yes, for this season (2002) and next season (2003), all NCAA Division 1-A and 1-AA schools are allow to schedule an additional game. This is the reason why Univ. of Miami (FL) is playing the chicken gators again and Division 1-AA schools are getting an additional payday (now 2 per year) since the inception of BCS formula which limited Division 1-A schools to one 1-AA opponent.
Great games for the NOLES (uva chokes again), CANES (only FAMU won the halftime with their band), and a great effort by the TRIBE (W&M) against the Hoosiers.
Next week, we have the culture clash war between UM vs uf. It is a nasty history between the two schools with the series being tied since 1987 (UM 31 Peagues 4). UF's defense will be highly tested against the Canes. This might be the first game when the uf faithful will be calling for Zook's scalp.

Good profile on Jeremy Bloom during the half of the LSU/VTech game. Looks like a nice soft-spoken guy. LSU sure could use one of his returns at the rate they're going!
