Heard a good joke today.

Why can't Marcus Vick transfer to another ACC team to complete his last year of eligibilty by QB'ing and leading the huddle?

Answer: He would be breaking his probation by associating with other felons.

West Virginia.

I spent 5 minutes today reading a pamphlet titled The History of West Virginia Football, doing some reseach, and sure enough, it confirms...

Zero National Championships
Zero Heisman Trophy Winners

Peach Bowl

WVU 26
Florida 6

Were they flying that night?
GatorJamie
Were you alive then?
Herr Tiggee
Hmmmm. WVU by 20 in the Peach Bowl (guffaw) in 1981, or.....

UF by 35 in the Sugar Bowl in 1993.

The balance in that argument tilts toward my fellow orange and blue brethren from Hogtown.

Thank you for doing my homework for me.

Oh I forgot. Florida football didn't count before Steve Spurrier & it only counts if they win since he left for greener pastures.
Herr Tiggee
At least Florida counted at some point. [crickets chirping]

When has Auburn seasons meant anything?

Certainly Auburn's undefeated seasons didn't equate to a National Champinship, so did they mean something of importance?

Maybe down on the plains in some sports bar restAUrant they think it does.
PhillyFan
Squacking that an undefeated season means nothing when WVU has ZERO natl titles...

umkay...
Aubie In Bham
You see, Betty, that is where you are missing out. We had a blast in 2004. We were pissed that we didn't have a chance to win the title. However, that is certainly paying benefits with recruiting classes. Also, being able to say that we have beaten Bama 4 years in a row is big...it's all about braggin' rights. Lastly, I would not be happy if we were 3-8...but I'd still be an Aub and still be right here supporting them. Can the same be said of you?

I suspect we'll find that out sooner rather than later. A WV 3-8 season is WAY more likely than an Auburn one. tongue.gif

Actually a 3-8 season will happen at Miami before it happens at Auburn or WVU anytime soon.

WVU won't lose more than 3 games in the next 3 years.

Auburn will losr 7-10 & Miami 10-14 during that time.

AU has one national title...not much, but one more than WVU. And keep up those "fool" remarks. Eventually they will get you banned.

And WVU wasn't invited to any "big dance" in 1993. Quit trying to re-write history. The MNC was held at the Orange Bowl that year.

The question isn't who is in the ACC.

Its who is in the ACC without a program that has a weekly arrest is the real question.

Watch it GJ, the ever increasinlgly, looking for a way to ban certain people, Jim, I mean mod, will accuse you of making a personal insult against Stinger.
WVUBuff
I would say Jim is fair.

I mean he certainly sees the hypocrisy of a certain self professed Queen "cough cough" calling others out and suggests they will be banned for using thw word fool after she calls them "Betty".

I would imagine the mod has a a good idea and pulse for that is going on in regards to the board.

Ok, guys, I'm confused. There has been some pretty vicious trash talking over the past 4 weeks and none of those posts have been admonished. Now, we get one that is locked for the mildest of language. I'm confused.

What are the rules and limits so we will ALL know when they've been breached. Let's do this like a basketball game...if we know what you are going to call, then we'll know how to play.

You realize that they always delete threads where people ask these sort of questions? You will be told to PM the mods.

FWIW - I had NOTHING to do with the closure of that thread. I know that there was some type of warning issued a few days ago by the mods, and now its closed. Not sure why.
Fair questions.

ANY discussion of the personal characteristics of other members takes a thread off-topic, draws an in-kind response, and very quickly the main topic of discussion is no longer (in this case) the ACC, but rather a few members' personal opinions of one another.

No particular post caused the moderators to close the ACC thread. Every member who engaged in personal comments is responsible. As Aubie in Bham states above, "There has been some pretty vicious trash talking over the past 4 weeks and none of those posts have been admonished." Some members apparently took the moderators' restraint as permission to escalate their "trash talk", and the original subject of discussion became lost in a sequence of increasingly insulting off-topic posts. A number of members participated; "He started it" is no excuse to continue it.

We have no problem with "smack talk" about teams or leagues. However, even mildly offensive comments directed toward other Outsports members are a violation of board policy, with good and obvious reason.

This board's purpose is to provide a place for gay fans and athletes to share their interest in sports. Personal exchanges distort that purpose, unfairly causing other members to take offense, lose interest in the conversation (if not the entire Web site) and drop out.

Continued abuse of the priviledge of participating in this discussion board will mean that this is not the last thread to be closed.
