In the Tech War, the boys from Atlanta got spanked big time. It's possible we could see another disputed national title if USC and Texas run the table because I can't think of any ACC team that can beat the Hokies. NC State tanks it against UNC. Clemson loses a second overtime game as BC gets their first conference win. Virginia over Duke (yawn). Likewise Maryland over Wake Forest. Same with Crimami over Colorado.

Wooo Hooo...go Maryland. 45-33 winners over Virginia!! I missed homecoming last year but am glad I'm here this year to share it with some of my fellow alumni. Time to party now baby with my fellow '01 alum. That was a much needed conference and overall win for Maryland. Go Terps!

After a slow start, I was satisfied with FSU's performance against Syracuse. Drew Weatherford looked good passing and didn't do anything wacky when pressured. Xavier Lee was whining earlier in the week about not starting. Although he got some playing time and passed for 162 yards, almost half of that was on one play and he was only 5-10 with some serious accuracy problems. Xavier, that's why you're not starting.

Virginia Tech 34 - West Virginia 17

Our offense is putrid! Can we just play defense only this season? Hopefully, we can get our crap together against Duke and Temple before the real teams appear on our schedule. eek!

Yeah, poor Clemson. That 3OT loss to Miami has just taken the wind out of their sails and they've lost 3 close ones in a row now. My Tarheels on the other hand, pulled their second upset in a row....maybe we aren't as bad as everyone expected and can pull another big win this season...?? Duke, on the other hand, can't beat their way out of a wet paper bad and are an embarrasment to the ACC. (my unbiased opinion)

The UMD Defense forced four turnovers from VT, but the offense made nothing-nill-zip-nada from it. Why did my turtles get my hopes up ion the first half?

I didn't see the second half of the game. How did Va Tech look? The four turnovers doesn't sound like an invincible team to me? Any chance BC catches them next Thursday looking ahead to Miami?

Wishful thinking, must be the hurricane force wind whistling through that red hair of yours distracting you. Vick at times played like a soph qb, two of the interceptions were his fault. One went through the receiver's hands and got intercepted. But the run game just destroyed the Terps, I kept yelling at the tv that VT should run the ball. The last two touchdowns by VT were long, grinding drives, all runs by the running backs or Vick, except for one pass that got a pass interference call on the first drive. The last scoring drive, all runs, starting at the Md 1 yard line, basically ran over the Terps, at the end of the drive the defense looked defeated.

But VT had problems scoring the first half, a better team would have beaten them last night.

But it ain't happening on November 5.

How did you see the game? I thought you were playing canasta with a bunch of old drunk queens.

I would love to see Texas Tech upset Texas and Cal upset USC so that perhaps Virginia Tech might meet Auburn in the BCS championship. No reward offered. The Marcus Hagans who smoked the FSU defense (and is a senior, therefore the Noles won't face him again) was contained in the pocket and completed only 50% of his passes.

FSU has Maryland, NCSt, and Clemson - all winnable - along the way to facing VaTech in Jacksonville.

Gawd, was UVA's offense absolutely terrible. I thought VT played bad and was worried about the UVA game but after seeing UVA score fewer points than the White Sox did last night, I wonder. Some of the credit goes to UNC, but mostly UVA was just bad.

Last night, Michael Vick was playing in place of his brother. Or so it appeared. The way that young man played last night, I'm not so sure there were too many college defenses that could've stopped him. He can be dangerous on foot, and he was 22 for 28 in the air. Jeesh!

Actually at VT games wearing that shirt won't raise any eyebrows, everyone will assume you are referring to the woman close by with the big hair under the Dale Jr. cap, the tight jeans and the beer in her hand. Don't worry, no matter where you are in the stadium there will be one in the vicinity.

And given our seats the tv cameras will have to have a pretty big zoom lens to find us. But I am just there to try to console KWG after the waterfowl get stomped by the landfowl. It is actually difficult to talk smack, I truly feel sorry for someone who travels so far to see his team lose. wink

HA! I haven't seen anyone in the stadium dressed like that yet! (and no beer in the stands anyway).

I have a north end zone seat for the Miami game which sucks. I much prefer the East stands, but I guess when you get a free student ticket, you can't complain too much.

Just so y'all know - Yes, I was at the FSU-MD game last Saturday. How much can I comment on the game? Not much.

It was Homecoming and I was in band geek high gear. We do our Alumni Band at homecoming, and while the Gaytor Band can scrape up about 60-70 people, we had over 250 on the field for pre-game, and even more who played in the stands during the game. I spent more time reliving my days there in Tally with great friends I rarely get to see than I spent time watching the game. (We did win didn't we? Oh, yeah, fourth-quarter comeback. I remember now. I think Karen put something into my overpriced stadium coke...)

With games against NCState and Clemson still to go in the ACC, one win will lock in the Atlantic Division title and a date with VaTech in Jacksonville.
