The Utah-New Mexico game tonight will likely go down as the weekend's most boring game.
New Mexico was completely inept out there without its #1 running back (the Mountain West leader in rushing). They simply had no offense at all... only 74 total yards rushing and 85 yards passing. Utah would've likely lost to a decent team tonight because they didn't look much better, with three fumbles and an INT. The Mountain West looks very weak again this year.

Now, now, no rubbing it in on Theodoresdaddy. I am sure he is in deep mourning. wink
Me, I am going to have a toast to my hokies on the way to a nice wine buzz. Finally, after 4 years, now if they had just hit that field goal against NCST they would be ranked.
I picked LSU, wow was that a mistake. Uga looked awesome. And even though I picked Notre Dame I am thrilled with Purdue.
Auburn-Vols on now, good game so far.

Gosh Daddy Rob, I was just having some fun.
Theodoresdaddy is the only one on here who even remotely rivals me in the obnoxiousness of his team support.

(and I still never forgave him for swearing that Pitt was gonna destroy my beloved Canes last year--which they obviously didn't)

Fresno State really stunk up the place tonight at Louisiana Tech.
Fresno was up 13-0 early in the game and dominating with nearly 200 yards of total offense compared to 20 for Louisiana Tech. Then Fresno's starting running back (Bryson Sumlin) went down with an injury and left the game. From there, it's been all downhill... and La. Tech scored a late TD to win 28-21.
Sumlin was the replacement for Fresno State's #1 running back -- Dwayne Wright -- who ran for over 100 yards against both Washington and Kansas State before being lost for the season himself late in the K-State game.
Without its top 2 running backs, Fresno State's season is in deep trouble. The Bulldogs find it very easy to get up for the Washingtons, UCLAs, Kansas States and Wisconsins of the world but they always have difficulty against the weaker teams on the schedule. Ugh.
It's the first time I've ever seen a school tear down the goal posts after beating Fresno State in football. I guess that means the program has come a long way but still...

It wasn't on the list, but Ohio St. just went down in Evanston 33-27, but the big news.....
Mike Nugent is human after all, he missed a FG on OSU's 1st possession in OT (moot since N'western scored at TD).
So with OSU, WVU, UT, and LSU all going D-O-W-N, there will be a shakeup in the polls.
and Oregon has the hi-liter jersey tops on ... where are my sunglasses?
and that wacky WAC was host to the biggest scorefest last night with San Jose St. winning 70-63 over Rice in an offensive show that woulda awed the old time WAC-ers ... wonder if they'll score as much when they face off in basketball?

woohoo. AU should be 6 this week. it was a really big surprise how they dominated the game. I figured if won, it would be very close. they looked impressive-bring on the giant killers LA TECH!!!!

I guess all those accolades came one year early in the Plains. I think this was the team that the preseaspm pundits were expecting LAST year. But both Auburn and Georgia showed that they had the "it" factor that they were missing last year ... the ability to win those statement games they were losing last year.

yes deep, AU is doing this year, what the should have done last. But i will games like this any year. AU seems to do better without the hype. i guess most teams succumb to the pressure of their hype. AU can't let up now. La Tech beat Fresno St. (No. 25) yesterday, so they are not patsy. AU fans will savor this win until an hour before kickoff next saturday.

Wow!....alone at the top?....I guess this proves that even a blind squirrel will find a nut occasionally.
This weeks games appear to be the toughest to pick -- by far!....so I better not get too full of myself cause I may be back at the bottom of the heap again soon.
Maybe it's a sign of good things to come, though -- just like the 'Cocks awesome performance Saturday night in Tuscaloosa -- so I'll take any success I can get as reason to celebrate.

Still waiting on which two teams you think will beat Miami in the ACC . . . Now, leave these nice people alone and take this weak smack over to the ACC thread where it belongs.
