It's been reported in the WaPo regarding the Redskins and NFL teams. Now it's hit my Gators.

Any of those who might try to make hay of this: karma is a beyotch.

MRSA is becoming more and more common. It is EXTREMELY difficult to treat, and requires weeks of IV antibiotic therapy.

It is a real bitch because it is so resistant to traditional antibiotics.

I had it last spring, probably caught from a diving accident where I cut my leg, and was in the hospital for weeks in an isolation room.

It is reaching epidemic proportions all over the place - apparently especially among non traditional groups. Many healthy, very active people are catching it, including a lot of athletes. It is not just the already sick or the elderly that are catching this stuff.

Scary shit.

Jamie, your linky be broken. Try this one.

That's just odd. Is it from contact in the locker room? Pretty frightening.

KWG, thank for fixy linky. smile.gif

Apparently it's becoming more and more prevalent in locker rooms. The WaPo had an article about a former Redskin who is basically crippled from it. It can be spread by contact, so he can't hold his baby son. sad.gif

I've also heard about problems in gay baths on the West Coast.

Scary thing is, it can spread from common showers, into athlete's foot, etc., so once it hits a team, it can have devastating effects.
