WVU is not going to finish 6th behind BC and Syracuse
We will beat Cincinnati, BC, and Syracuse. We have a chance to beat Virginia Tech because it's a home game for us and the boys are going to be up for that game. That will be the game to win this year since Va Tech screwed us and the rest of the BE over by jumping to the ACC after signing on to the lawsuit.
Wisconsin and Maryland are both iffy. I believe those are home games as well but I'm not sure. Miami--we'll more than likely lose.
We will finish at the lowest in 4th and make the trip to the San Francisco Walnut Bowl or whatever the name of it is.
Just remember, no one picked us to finish second last year but we did!
Go EERS!

Once again, theodoresdaddy, our Mountaineers get no respect. We've got a very tough schedule - five ranked teams - but I think we can beat BC and Syracuse. And I wouldn't be surprised if we knock off either Tech or Pitt. Both those games are at home and will be highly emotional for different reasons. No way we win at Miami and we'll probably lose at Maryland and at home vs. Wisconsin. I'm going with a 4th place finish in the BE and 7-5 overall.

I think the Mountaineers will give Bucky all he can handle in the opener. Infact, I'm a bit nervous about it! Morgantown is not a easy place to kick-off the season, IMO. It should be an exciting game...Luck to West Virginia! Go Badgers!

Hey all:
It is good to see that people are reading what I write, even if they don't agree with it, which is just fine. As you will notice if you re-read the section on West Virginia, I make the comment that West Virginia has the talent on this team to surprise alot of people. You just cant predict what inexperienced talent is going to do. So to be fair, you have to basically assume the lowest output, and hope that the talent surprises everyone. If you notice, I said at the very beginning that I "really like the talent on this West Virginia Team." I do, and I personally hope that they do finish better than 6, behind Boston College and Syracuse. I find it insulting to look at Boston College's non-conference schedule. So, for all of you West Virginia fans out there getting your jocks all tied up in a knot, I personally hope that I West Virginia does rise to the upper half. I just cannot base analysis on what I personally like. I have to go with the facts and the probable outcome, and the probable outcome is that they finish lower.

Hey hey....
I'd say this year, the Big East is totally unpredictable. Other than Rutgers and Temple being easy pickings as normal... BUT with all the hoopla over the spilt, a lot of the remaining Big Easters will be wanting to stick it BIG to Miami, VA Tech, BC, and Syracuse.
And I've learned a pesky Mountaineer never takes it easy. The Mountaineers should place pretty well this year. Can't say where, but I doubt it will be near the bottom of the pack. wink

No arguments here. The Mountaineers lost a lot off both lines. If the rebuilt lines can come together early, they should be OK by the time they get into the meat of conference play. Luckily, we've got an experienced QB and a solid running game.
