The five finalists for the Heisman Trophy have been announced. They are:
Brad Banks-Iowa
Ken Dorsey-Miami
Larry Johnson-Penn State
Willis McGahee-Miami
Carson Palmer-Southern California
Who do think will win? Who do you think deserves to win? Who got undeservedly nominated? Who got undeservedly left out?

Damn, what a field. Who will win is anyone's guess, but I'm afraid that the "Miami" vote could be split. Even if it is, though, the field is so close that I don't see a clear winner.
Who ought to win? My vote goes to DORSEY.
McGahee rocks, but he is, after all, a sophomore, and look where last year's stud sophomore is...watching this year's show on TV.
(BTW: <ring, ring> Rexie, phone's for you. It's Heath Shuler. He wants to talk to you about leaving college as a junior. Says he knows a little somethin' about it...)
Anyone not deserve to be there? You. Must. Be. High. In fact, there are players who also deserve to be there, but the field is rich enough as it is.

I would love to see Kenny win it, but GJ you are right, the Southeast vote will be split and the Miami boys will be screwed. I think that Larry Johnson will win it. Kenny and Willis would rather have another ring than the Heisman anyway.

Who do I think will win it? Ken Dorsey
Who do I think deservs to win it? Brad Banks
Who do I think is there undeservedly? Ken Dorsey
Who got left out? Somebody who plays defense.

I'd vote to Dorsey too. His rating may not be as high as others, but he is a winner and a leader and he comes through in big game after big game. Since there is no really outstanding candidate, his overall, uhm, package, should get the votes.
Anyone shocked that Leftwich wasn't invited to NYC?

Disappointed, but not shocked. He was my pre-season sentimental favorite, but I think that his late-season injury/ies took him out of the spotlight at a critical time, when Carson Daly, I mean Palmer, was primed to step in.

And if he doesn't make it in the NFL, he looks like he could do your taxes!

Would love to see LJ win (for obvious reasons!) He has a shot if Palmer and Banks votes split due to QB position, and Dorsey and Mcgahee split from same team. Only one can win, but all 5 have had great seasons, and two could easily walk away with National Championship rings. Banks, Palmer, and Johnson can all be proud of how their efforts helped turn their programs around. And LJ may not have any more room in his trophy case after last nights 2002 College Football awards!
Go LJ!!!!
Go State....Beat Auburn!

I hope PSU gives Auburn a good spanking like they did a few years ago in the Outback bowl. It was like 42-14 on a very muddy field. GO STATE !!
Can you tell I'm still bitter over losing to them in Tuscaloosa ?
I would definitely vote for Larry Johnson. Although Ken Dorsey sure is cute !!
