How do you think it's gonna shake out?

I'm picking Tennessee in the East, and Auburn/LSU in a tie.

Have another Krispy Kreme and prepare for Urban Warfare.

I'm not sure who is going to be the best in the West.

LSU has loads of talent, but it looks as if their recruiting class this year is falling off some with the departure. JeMarcus Russell looked pretty good, but from some reason their running game isn't there like it should be. How many seniors are they losing?

Alabama has a pretty good bit of talent coming back. If Brodie can stay healthy, I would think they would be formidable competition if their defense plays like they did this year.

Auburn has a lot of talent back on defense. We are losing Carlos Rogers, Will Herring FS, and Junior Rosegreen. However, we have played a lot of players this year. Tony Bell will be a Sophomore and should make some noise as well as the number one player in the nation we will be signing out of Georgia. As far as offense goes, we have Carl Stewart who is a Ronnie Brown type running back and Kenny Irons that is a USC transfer that is supposed to be a true talent. Brandon Cox is a pretty accurate passer and should flourish under Borges' system.

I think it will be a toss up between those three. If Ole Miss does poorly, their new coach will just beat up the other coaches to make himself feel better.

I think Florida has the talent, but had no DISCIPLINE this year. Kids need discipline and I think Urban will bring it. The Great Pumpkin will lose to UGA and UF. UGA is an enigma. All of that talent and they do so poorly. I think Richt needs some discipline on his team as well.

It should make for a good college season next year. Don't forget we are supposed to have our SEC Outsports get together in Auburn for the game with the 'Cocks.

Whatcha been smokin' and gimme summa dat!

The Vols are gonna be tough next year, or did you miss the hammering they put on the Aggies in the Cotton Bowl??

With all the coaching switches in the conference, Fulmer has the advantage of continuity, but he better win it this year while things are in flux, cause the conference is gonna be much tougher once Meyer and Spurrier get their systems in place with their recruits. It's possible we could see a return to the SEC East dominating the conference again, depending on whether TT can continue to get the recruits to Auburn, what Shula gets accomplished in Tuscaloser, and what happens at LSU. Something tells me the Bengals will be missing Saban. wink

The Pumpkin may have a few things that are occupying him next year other than football.

The South Beach Diet?

Evading subpoenas?

Installing his very own Krispy Kreme machine?

Designing and marketing a dartboard with a great big red elephant on it?

Yep, he'll be bizzee.
MarylandVol
Long as he keeps winning, I couldn't care less. I vote for the Bama dartboard.

Evading subpoenas
Well, now that football season is over, he can't avoid the deposition. This is about to get ugly.

Auburn knows the long reaching hand of the Tide when they set out to torpedo a program. Tennessee played with the wrong boys and it is about to get ugly. The NCAA will be firmly on Tennessee's side because of the complicity they had with Tennessee in bringing down the Tide. Fulmer better not find those tapes he said he lost, then said he never had.

Auburn versus Florida in the title game.... the only conference title game that really counts!!!

Actually it goes waaaay to close to Columbia for my taste. wink

Since I live in ATL, I think I need to inform you that we do in fact have MORE than one road.

So tell me, Jamiekins - what does it feel like to members of the Gator Nation to have Sir Steve in Cockville SC?

(I laughed so hard when he told Florida "My resume is your school trophy case!")

Gator Nation is gonna learn FAST what it feels like Nov. 12th when they visit Williams-Brice and the 'Ol Ball Coach teaches Urban how to win in the SEC....maybe he can even bring Jeremy Foley along to take notes (and give him some directions to find that trophy case in Gainesville). tongue.gif

I laughed at the (purported) resume comment, too. Classic Spurrier.

I actually was happy to see him go elsewhere. Mind you, he still is the embodiment of All Things Great and Gator, but we were looking for someone long-term, while the Spur-Dog is not going to coach into his 70's.

Gamecock is right - the Florida-USC game is gonna be incredible, but don't bet on whose gonna school who just yet.

And expect LOTS of fun quotes from Meyer. His introductory press conference was hysterical (in a good way).

Aubie in Bham has said it many times, and I agree with him 100%: he'd rather go 8-3 with a class team than 11-0 with a bunch of thugs. Crowder just declared pro, which is a step in the right direction for us. And check this out: Meyer has told his team that he expects them to, among other things, treat women with respect.

I think I'm in love. biggrin.gif
