The Mets have sent Todd Zeile, Benny Agbayani and some cash to Colorado and Glendon Rusch and Lenny Harris to Milwaukee. In return, the Mets receive Jeromy Burnitz, Jeff D'Amico, Lou Collier, the cutiepie outfielder Mark Sweeney and cash from the Brewers, and minorleaguers Ross Gload and Craig House from Colorado. The Brewers also get Alex Ochoa from the Rockies as part of the trade.
With eleven players changing hands, this becomes the largest trade in baseball since the twelve player 1994 deal between San Diego and Houston.

Thanks for the clarification, Ted. My loyalty remains with the Mets. Let's Go Mets!
This switcheroo thing doesn't surprise me a bit; with the signing of Heavy Mo, it was ineluctable. Wonder if Mets will pay part of my hottie Todd's contract.
Pretty good trade for the Mets. Jeromy Burnitz will shore up Mets' already awesome offense.
Hmmm...Colorado now has my 2 favorite ex-Mets.
Adios, Todd!

[quote] and cash from the Brewers
What? The Brewers??? have CASH??? Oh yeah, I forgot, the "Sell your Soul to Beelzebub Factor."
Patronage can be wonderful, if applied appropriately. Or, whenever...

Absolutely a good trade for the Mets. That lineup will be something else, but the pitching still worries me a lot. Astacio's arm could be a problem and Jeff D'Amico missed most of last season with an injury. Who knows what condition these two will be in. I also read a report about a possible Rick Reed for Steve Traschle trade. When do pitchers and catchers report?

I'm generally very pleased with the Mets' overhaul. On the pitching front, D'Amico had a stellar 2000 (when not hurt), has a higher future ceiling than Rusch, and is a year younger.
Cause for worry: the Mets still have a bad lower third of the lineup, with Payton and Rey as dead wood. I'm resigned to Rey staying, and I hope the hunky but unproductive Payton plays his way into oblivion by Memorial Day!
