Full Version: Where are the BYU voters now?

72 points. Basketball teams score that much. Football teams don't.
Where is that lone Outsport voter (Cyd, you know who that is) that voted BYU #1.
Yeah, I know, I picked Tennessee #1. But #2 has a history of failure this year. Still, Miami was my #2.
But BYU?
They finally play a team with a decent record (8-3) and get humilaited. 72 points????
How the Hell can any team give up that many points? Let me tell you.
1. They have NO DEFENSE.
2. They have NO DEPTH (after Staley goes down).
They did not belong in the realm of the ranked teams. I said it months ago, and it's still true.
Still, I wish they had gone undefeated, so that they could cry in the off-seasn about their crappy schedule.

They lost. Move on.

BYU sucks plain and simple. We all knew it. They played no one and had no arguement to being in a BCS bowl. 72 points is ridiculous. I went to Rutgers and they gave up 80 points this year but they are a bad football team but what does that make BYU giving up 72. Bye Bye BYU next time play a real schedule.

Does this mean that the BYU lawsuit if off???

Under the same logic . . .

Nebraska was a sham all season. Not only did they squeak by bad Kansas State and Texas Tech teams at home, but they gave up 62 points - the most ever by a Nebraska team - in their final game of the season. It's no wonder one Outsports pollster refused to rank them this week.

CYD - as I formulate my top 15 for the final poll, and then about what "award" to give YOU, I can't help but see "bad loser" as a possible award.
You say "they lost, move on" about BYU's loss to that powerhouse Hawaii team, yet you continue to cry out loud that ERIC CROUCH has won the Heisman, and call Nebraska a season's long "sham"!
ERIC CROUCH won the HEISMAN - he won it - GET OVER IT!
AND IT's a ROSY day in Nebraskaland! Our golden boy gets the award for BEST player of the year AND the Huskers could well be playing in Pasadena!
The way I see it, there are only two (2) teams that have WON eleven (11) games - and they are Miami and Nebraska.

Well, BYU won more than 11 (12) and Fresno State also won 11 games.

In the few BYU games I saw this year, their offense began and ended with one of the best filled out uniforms in college football...I think it said L. Staley on the back. (Sorry Dusty)

Luke wasn't in Hawaii (although he expects the broken ankle to be healed by bowl time) and because both teams have huge offense and no defense, it was inevitable to see the rainbows (I haven't heard of any name change) win the game.

The voters had every right to vote the way they did and I truly believe with the Lukester, they would have won and would have kept everyone in the "what about us?" arguement...

Nebraska gave up 62 points, hasn't played in 3 weeks, ended up #3 in the Big 12, and they could be the national champs. Here's to the BCS. Just drop the middle letter to find its true meaning.

The BCS is just a disaster waiting to happen. BYU's lawsuit is perfectly legitimate, if not for them this year. Earlier this week, BYU was eliminated from the BCS, whether they won or lost in Hawaii. The BCS oligarchs breathed an earlier sigh when Fresno State lost after beating Colorado.

One of these days, maybe next year, a team from a "lesser" conference is going to go undefeated with win over the majors. When this happens, and they are left out of the BCS, then the BCS is going to have to open its books and show that it is set up to protect the interests of 6 conferences (plus, Notre Dame). It is a sad statement that most division 1-A schools have lost any chance to win the national title in August, because they are not in the major conferences, whereas schools like Nebraska can be humiliated and then play its next game for the national title. The BCS is a sham and an embarrassment to those who love college football. Either restore the dignity of the bowls or bury them once and for all!
