BCS CHAOS!
LSU wins! Who's going to face Miami now?
Colorado deserves the chance. How on EARTH can they really send Nebraska??? They didn't even win half of their own division, and got thrashed by the team that did. Go, Buffalos!

Oregon should be in the Rose Bowl playing for the National Championship. They will be ranked #2 in the polls. What's ironic is Oregon actually has a chance of gaining a share of the championship even if they do not go to the Rose Bowl. If Miami loses and Oregon wins the Fiesta Bowl, then the polls will more than likely split the Championship between two schools. BCS Nightmare!
And by the way, how the heck is Hawaii NOT in a Bowl Game? If anyone deserves to be in a bowl it's Hawaii.

Well... I am in TOTAL shock.. 2 fumbles and a potential interception(that hit him in the numbers)that could have turned the game around. I am Completely SICK!!
PLUS.... I think it TOTALLY SUCKS that Nebraska is going to go.(If the BCS keeps to their record) I agree that Colorado should go but don't think it is going to happen.
I am taking a sleeping pill with a shot of Jack and going to bed!!

So now the Big 12 (twice) and the SEC have been victimized by a conference play-off game. If I'm a fan of the less-than-12-team conferences, I would applaud and fight against a playoff sysytem. Let the big boys knock each other out!
A 7-4 team beats a 10-1 team? Bring it on, if you hate a playoff system.
Today, LSU cost the SEC $13 million. In a sport that revolves around money, you can bet that Roy Kramer is puking in his toilet. Each of the SEC schools lost close to a million dollars as a result of pairing UT and LSU.
Talk to the Big-12 if you don't believe me. They have cried on 2 occassions since the inception of their conf championships with the end result.
The maddness of the NCAA continues.

For my money it has to be Oregon in the Rose Bowl. How any 2-loss team can go is beyond me. If Colorado is considered prime, then 11-2 Fresno State has more claim since they beat the Buffs. This is why the BCS blows.
I'm with you, Jim. Oregon is the best of the 1-loss teams. Of course, if the pollsters really want Oregon instead of Nebraska they can probably get them in by downgrading Nebraska's rank if they really want to.

AU Tiger, you have been on LSU's case all season. Bottom line, LSU is the SEC champ, and we will be in N.O. for the Sugar Bowl.
As far as LSU costing teams a 1 mill each...with that game and the future of Matt Mauck, the TAF will raise more than that between now and next Sept.
Also we were 8-3 going into the game not 7-4.

My bad, LSU72. You were 8-3. As far as being on LSU's back, I don't see how you get that impression. And you are right...LSU is the SEC champ. I'm not denying that. My beef is that conference championship games in power conferences do more harm than good under the current BCS bulls**t.
Tennessee had a chance to play in the Rose Bowl. It would have been a feather in the SEC's cap.
As far as the Chamber of Commerce in New Orleans is concerned, I'm sure they're none too happy about the "home" team in the Sugar Bowl. Hotel profits are down everywhere, as Americans have quit travelling. And it looks as though they will now see a 50% drop in filling those rooms for their bowl game, as LSU fans can make a quick drive into town.

LSU72 - so what's the thought on who will start the bowl game, Davie or Mauck? I'd think you almost HAVE TO let Mauck start - sort of the Tom Brady syndrome, right?
And looking to next season, if Mauck does well in MSY, are all of those future Rick Clausen versus Casey Clausen showdowns now "up in smoke" ???

Au Tiger - No problem. I am sure your other points are valid, but I am just planning a great time in N.O. for New Years. If you are right, I should have no problem with a room.
Wurm - If he is healthy, I am sure that Davey will start. This was not some Chris Simms situation. Mauck may have the upper hand over Clausen, he was recruited at Michigan State by Nick Sabin, but chose to play baseball for some farm team for 4 years. Either way I know that Sabin will not let this turn into a repeat of the Davey/Booty madness
