Well, the deadline to make trades without players having to clear waivers.

A 3-team deal to send Manny Ramirez and Danys Baez to the Mets, Aubrey Huff and Mike Cameron to the Red Sox and four prospects to Tampa Bay (two each from NY and Bos) has hit a snag.

ESPN just reported that the Orioles got Eric Byrnes from Colorado for Larry Bigbie.

Also, the Rangers plan to trade Chan Ho Park to the Padres for Phil Nevin, who just refused a trade to Baltimore. Nevin can't block a trade to Texas. The commissioner has to approve the deal because the Rangers would send money to the Padres to help pay for Park's huge contract.

On the Phillies post-game show on Comcast Sportsnet, John Marzano said he's been told that the White Sox have offered the Phillies "whatever they want" for Billy Wagner. If "whatever they want" is really true, I'd have to do it. I don't feel the Phils have what it takes to make the playoffs.
