I'm not trying to incite you, LRDB, but I have to take exception with your including Bob McAdoo in that list as a Laker great (along with Kareem, Kobe, and Shaq) considering his brief stint in L.A. at the tail end of his career....even though McAdoo may have finished his career there virtually ALL of his "glory days" and scoring titles came while he was a member of the Buffalo Braves (who are now the LA Clippers, for those who may not realize)....I take nothing away from the noteworthy accomplishments of Kareem, Kobe, and Shaq while they were/are members of the Lakers (notwithstanding Shaq's years in Orlando) but to lump McAdoo into the group as an all-time Laker great (particularly for his scoring prowess while in the prime of his career) is like the New York Mets taking "credit" for Willie Mays' 660 HR's or Babe Ruth being honored by the Atlanta Braves since he finished his career as a member of that organization when the franchise was in Boston (despite the fact that he hit only 6 of his 714 HR's as a Brave).
Don't get me wrong -- I realize the intent of this thread is to honor Kobe for the incredible accomplishment that he has achieved at such a young age and I, for one, applaud Bryant who, barring injury, will likely end his career as one of the game's all-time greatest players (not unlike Kareem and Shaq, for that matter)....Kobe has always conducted himself with class on and off the court (unlike many of his contemporaries in the NBA today) and that fact, as much if not moreso than his obvious talent and statistical achievements, will continue to garner him praise and respect from fans, teammates, and opponents alike.

Actually, he didn't say McAdoo was a Laker great. He only said that 4 of the 5 have Lakers experience.

And of course this accomplishment had to come when Kobe was playing my Pacers....that sucks!
I will say Kobe has impressed me as of late, but seriously, the Lakers would not have won the championships the last few years with out Shaq. No Shaq no championship for Kobe....but I think things are changing....it is getting to look more and more like no Kobe no Championship.
Good Luck in the playoffs DaBomb...you are going to need it.

YO! pacerpride great to hear from you! Miss Ya Dude! good Luck to ou in te playoffs as well! 76ers are looking good! IMHO (Then again we play Sunday 76ers vs LAKERS) so I hope 76ers play a sloppy game like they did tonight! (A win yes, and a help to LAKERS yes, but w/o a doubt not a performance worthy of beating the LAKERS) to Joe in Philly thank you for clearifying my comments about McAdoo! I know his history, fact is he was still a LAKER! AI YI YII

A sloppy game? Based on the date this was posted, that's the night they held Portland to 60 points and won by 28. Doesn't seem all that sloppy to me.
And they beat Seattle last night, have won 11 of the last 12 (only loss to Sacramento in a close, well-played game), and are suddenly just one game out of first place and two behind in the race for best record in the East. A little mind-boggling, actually. Tomorrow ought to be interesting.
