"My mother taught me that: Somebody hits you, you hit them back." -Stephon Marbury.

Marbury reportedly fires back at Brown

Could we see another Sprewell choking incident? I hope it doesn't come to that. But, I have to say, coaches like Larry Brown, Van Gundy, etc.. take a long time to get their systems implemented, which can be frustrating for star players like Marbury, Iverson, Francis, etc.. whose skills are aren't nurtured to their coaches confined style of play. Their skills are more taylored to a Pat Riley's 'showtime', run-and-gun game.

If the coaches are waiting to get better players on the team as in the case of the Knicks, then why not let Starbury be Starbury? I would rather see him go off for 40 and lose than to see him score 12 and lose.

Just my .02 cents.

Larry Brown and Stephon Marbury need to hang out together for a night and get drunk. This will help them both get all their emotions out. And if it means a drunken alleyway brawl between the two, then so be it.

I would argue that these coaches are actually coaching, and forcing the players to develop into more complete players, rather than letting them be one-dimensional scorers. It doesn't do any good to go off for 40 if you don't play the rest of the game. I'd rather see a disciplined loss than a sloppy streetball kind of loss where it looks like nobody cares.

Iverson and Philly did pretty well with Brown, and I think he made Iverson a better player. I honestly think Marbury is frustrated because he's never really lived up to the expectations put on him, and now he's blaming everyone but himself.

I don't like putting Marbury and Francis into the same category as Iverson. While AI has had his issues, his heart has never been questioned. There is no evidence that the other clowns ever had one. Iverson wants to win, always, first and foremost. The other guys are more interested in making fantasy owners happy than they are in making their team owners happy.

That's the thing, they are not disciplined losses. They're getting blown out of the bldg. Marbury is right for saying, he's going back to being Starbury again.

Maybe his old style of play will increase his trade value?
