I'd like to thank Jim at Outsports for reporting in Jock Talk (Friday, May 12) on the breast cancer fundraiser in which several major league baseball players will be participating.

Yes, it will be strange to see these tough, macho baseball players swinging pink bats. Then again, it is for a good cause and it would not surprise me if some players have been either directly or indirectly affected by cancer.

I read on MLB.com or someplace that bids from public might be taken on those pink bats. I may have to try to get me one, I love that pink!
