Each of the five MLB California franchises--A's, Angels, Dodgers, Giants, and Padres--will end this season with winning records. Since the Padres came into the league in '69, this is the first time that has ever happened. Even Nostradamus couldn't have predicted it, but there are some who look to the apocrypha for clues as to what this occurrence means.
