Well, MY Boston Celtics take on the Dallas Maverics tonight. Any of you Dallas fans (Theo and his sidekick) want to make a friendly wager in this? We all know how good I am at making bets!!

Look for the Celtics to prove that the East is on the rise in the NBA. Look for the Celtics to severly SPANK the Maverics. I will leave it to you Theo, whatever you want to put up for I bet, I game.

...always up for the challenge (and I do mean that literally)...

Like Key Arena said, "The Mavericks did win tonight!!" They are now 9-0!!, but to me they face their biggest test when they play the New Jersey Nets tomorrow night. I usually never guarantee victories, anyway. They are actually playing better defense these days. I just they had more players to work with. They cannot continue to play Dirk, Nash, and Finley 35 plus minutes each a night. They will need their injured players to return in a hurry. They are blessed and very fortunate to be undefeated right now.
Theo
I HATE that I just saw this challenge. You lucked out this time, Celtics.

GP, nice win for the 'Sonics, as well.
Theo
SmoothRon, how about Dallas' bench? Najera, Williams, and Johnson are providing a great spark to the starting lineup in the midst of all the injuries we're experiencing. Indeed tonight will be a challenge but the Mavs do well on back-to-backs.

Mavs 10-0 sure would look nice on SportsCenter tonight.

Well, MY Celtics loss!! But as usual I am always gracious even in defeat. Never fear Maverics fans, the Celtics will be better prepared for our next meeting. Luckily for me no one took me up on my bet. So I guess that makes it a symbolic win for Da Kid.

Dallas is now 10-0, but on another note, my alma mater, the Texas Longhorns was upset yesterday, and are now out of the Big 12 Championship and National Championship race. The Mavs next host those 3-time defending champs, the L.A. Lakers on this upcoming Tuesday, Nov. 19th. I heard that L.A. is trying to get Shaq back for that game. And Theo, you are right, Dallas has a great bench, and I was not trying to downplay their great play of late, but I just wanted to emphasize that if the starters continue putting in 35+ minutes a game, they will be worn down in games as the season goes on.Popeye Jones is expected back soon, but LaFrentz and Van Exel, will be out for a couple of more weeks. I love Dallas' team play. They get everyone involved, and tonight, Nash was the team's high scorer. Who says that you have to be the high scorer for your team every game. They are holding teams 12 to 15 pts below the average that they held teams to last year. They are 10-0 for a reason!! They are playing the best team ball of any team in the league right now.
Theo
Let's hear it for the Dallas Mavericks! No one thought they could go on the road and beat Cleveland, Boston, AND New Jeoyzee. (I've not seen or heard hide nor hair of any of the Fakers fans around here lately. I guess they all went and crawled under a rock somewhere). Steve Nash had 30 pts and 9 assists and per usual, the Dallas bench WAS the Dallas bench aka Walt Williams and Eduardo Najera!!!!

7 days from now, GP and the Sonics will be visiting the American Airlines Center for some schooling on how to play basketball!
Theo
So in other words, Dallas still hasn't played anybody, right? Oh, okay.

Okay the New Jersey win was good

gp43, you have got to admit when a team is good or not, and stop just ballyhooing your own team. The Sonics are a good team and so are the Mavericks, but the Sonics haven't beaten any above 500 teams on the road, like the Mavericks have in New Jersey and Boston. In fact, the Mavericks have played six games away from home during this 10-0 start. They play your Sonics FINALLY this upcoming Saturday, Nov. 23rd. Will the debate be over then? I honestly think that it will be a great game, but the Mavericks will win. Would you like to place any guarantees on this game? The Sonics did score an impressive win against the Kings the other day. They made the Kings look as if it was a pro team going against a college team. The Kings were totally manhandled.

uh, Houston and Washington are winning teams, and Boston has Vin Baker, so you really shouldnt count that one. Sonics can play like shit like they did today and still win. Just sleep for the first 3 quarters, then kick the Clippers' Ass in the 4th.
