I went through the schedule to check the weekly count, here it is
4 games- Lakers, Kings, Blazers, Magic, Jazz
3 games- all other teams, except
2 games- Mavericks and Bucks
I am pretty sure this is accurate, but if you dont trust me you can double check
Line-ups should be finalized by Sunday at midnight pacific time, then they'll lock in. First game is next Tuesday.
also there is Sonics challenge, with free ticket and cash prizes

GP,
Thanks for the weekly game counts. That helps a lot with setting the line-up for week one. Hopefully, VGM starts posting weekly game counts like they did last year.
Also, in a very emotional ceremony, I have retired the "Quack Attack" team. My 2003 team is the Reign City Slam Ducks. Quack Quack.

Sonics have best backcourt in the league? USA today ranks GP #1 at PG, Rashard Lewis #3 at SF and Brent Barry #1 at SG.

Not to disparage Son of Rick, but I can't really take any ranking system too seriously that has David Robinson ahead of Shaq (and I am a Spurs fan!) or the Brentster over McGrady and Bryant.

Well Bones is the most underrated player in the NBA, and numbers dont lie, so its about time somebody gave him some respect. The Sonics will be 10 wins better this season and he'll get noticed more. Yes I would rather have Kobe or McGrady.

Brad Miller is the #3 center in the league? Yikes. (Although I'm embarrassed to admit that I selected him on my VGM team last year on 2 different weeks.) And where's Eric Montross? As utterly horrible a player as this man is, he may be the Raptor savior as we are starting the season with the likes of Jelani McCoy (GP, I'm sure you have something nice to say about him since he was a former Sonic) and Mamadou N'daiye.

nope McCoy sucks, that is why he is a former Sonic

Montross probably didnt play in enough games. Brad Miller was among centers in the top 3 in all shooting categories, #4 in scoring, #5 in assist and #6 in steals which is pretty good. But probably put up more of those numbers with the Bulls

Thanks for posting the weekly game count. I bet that was a pain!
Quacky, we didn't get invited to the ceremony. Was Joey there?

Curt, are we sure they are going to put the "weekly game count" up? It's still not there.

I dont know, remember last year it wasnt up till like the 2nd or 3rd week, it's not that big of a deal going through it though, it only took me like a couple minutes, everbody's asking the same question on the espn board

It is important to check injury status and weekly game counts. injured players will have an *asterick* next to their name.

Okay...I have a question!!!
What does the "81" represent by my name? I guess I really need to read the "how to play" section!

Pacerpride: those are your points, your players acquire points this way
Lets say Brent Barry played tonight,
he had 27 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assist, 3 steals, 0 blocks and he was 10 of 18 field goals and 5 of 8 from the free throw line, with 1 turnover. You would use this formula, pts.+reb+asst.+stl+blks and subtract missed field goals + missed free throws + turnovers
figure that out and Brent Barry would have scored 31 points for your vgm team that night
You need to have next weeks line-up by Sunday at midnight Pacific time, you want to pick players that will play the most games that week, here are how many games each team is playing next week
4 games,
Seattle, Sacramento, Golden State,
Dallas, Minnesota, Denver, Memphis,
Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, Milwaukee,
New York, New Jersey, Washington, Atlanta
3 games, everyone else except
2 games, Houston and Utah

I have one more question at this time! You have been saying that the players will be locked in for the week.....It seems that I can change them daily.....Can I do that or am I doing something wrong?
RCKSoniK
Nov 4 2002, 12:29 AM
You can change your line-up anytime during the week, but it wont be activated till Sunday at mid. pacific time. The line-up you picked the previous Sunday will still be the one that scores your points. My reccomendation is to pick up as many players as possible from the undefeated Suuuuuuuuuuper SONICS!
C Webb suffered some kind of injury so Ive made a line-up change, it now Payton, Barry, Nowitzki, Jamison, Wallace, Mac10

Looks like once again Da Kid has to display his pro hoops expertise via VGM. I may be in second place this week but I will soon be in the top spot. And for our resident Seattle Supersonics apologist, how does it feel to be behind Da Kid.
Da Kid.

Well, after week 1, I'm in last place. Thanks, Shaq. I didn't have time last week to go in & change my line-up before the deadline so I knew I was screwed. Let's just say that the Reign City Slam Ducks are all rookies and they are still getting to know each other...yeah, that's it.
