Is it me, or are the hardcore, die-hard Cub fans finally waking up to the fact that we haven't had a world championship in 94, soon 95 years? Having gone to a couple games at Wrigley this year as opposed to say, 1998, I'd say the percentage of people there just for the atmosphere and a Sosa longball and the people there to see the Cubs *Win* has dramatically shifted. Just the fact that they're booing Todd Hundley unmercifully I take as a good sign, at least the die-hards in Wrigleyville are starting to really care. Anyone out there with thoughts?

I've wondered about this on a more general level--if you have a team/owner that's perennially bad, how should fans react? Keep going to games because of the atmosphere, etc. or stop going altogether? If they stop going, then ownership may claim that people are unsupportive and try and move the team (as in Montreal). Yet if they keep filling up the park it seems like they support losing.
