What in the hell were the schedule makers thinking though by having the Lakers/Spurs meet 3 times before the All-Star break?

I know, that's ridiculous. The champs are looking pretty bad right now, but they looked bad early last season too. Still, I think it's obvious that the championship is btwn the Kings and Lakers.

Kobe Bryant was interviewed at halftime of the Mavs vs. Lakers by Cheryl Miller (I believe) after the Mavs were sparked by Steve Nash and brought the game within 7 points. Miller asked Kobe what they needed to do to stave off the Mavs and he said something to the effect that they had to take Nash out of his game. Well at the beginning of the 2nd half, Karl Malone comes out and elbows Nash in the head and sends him to the locker room. Today it is announced that Malone receives a one game suspension for his antics.

Hey, if you can't figure out a way to beat'em on the court, just knock'em out of the game with an elbow or a left hook. rolleyes.gif

Give me a break! Malone didn't deserve a suspension for that elbow! Maybe a fine Kidd's tirade against the officials which resulted in a $10 thousand $ fine hurt the league more! Malones elbow was undeliberate!
Joe in Philly
I saw some replays of his past elbows. He's not exactly a clean player. He deserved the penalty.

Malone's been getting away with this move for his entire career. C'mon, Lakersdabomb stop being such a homer. If Malone were still with the Jazz and he did the exact same thing against Kobe, you'd be looking to have him criminally prosecuted. rolleyes.gif Now he's a Laker and Malone is suddenly Saint Karl of SoCal?

As I have posted b4 Malone was never 1 of my favorite players! Yes it is easier for me to like him as a LAKER, but that is the nature of being a Sports fan! He got suspended and we still won! So be it! Still I never considered Karl Malone a dirty player, the reason I didn't like him was for his comments after Magic announced he had HIV! I have always respected Gary Payton and hope he wins his 1st, but not last, NBA Championship w/ the LAKERS this year! As for Karl Malone? Yeah, I'm hoping he wins a Championship or 2 w/ the LAKERS as well! I don't think I am biased everytime I stick-up for a LAKER, but maybe I am!

Well Lakers, the truth hurts and I'll be the first to admit it. I used to hate Romonowski when he played for the 49ers, then he came to Denver and all of a sudden, he wasn't so bad after all and was even kinda cute on top of that. Well, he left the Broncos and went to the Raiders and IMHO, intentionally tried to break Shannon Sharpe's arm last year during a game. Now, I couldn't despise a player more than I do him.

I follow you THEO!

I dislike Malone's game and he's a dirty player.

I'll never forget the game against Detroit back in 1991. In the first game Zeke had torched Stockton for 40 after Stockton was selected to the original Dream Team over him (clearly one of the greatest injustices in NBA history) . In the second game in Utah, Zeke again was embarrassing Stockton and Malone elbowed him, giving him a huge gash over his eye. Malone claims he was going after the ball but the replay-- much like the one involving Nash-- shows the contrary. Funny how he is able to flex some muscle against 6-foot point guards but when he needed to move 6'8 Rodman in the paint in two Finals he turned into a jump shooter. Nothin' but a PAB-- punk-ass bitch.
