Hey folks, hoping someone can give me a reference. Read an article in the airplane about a Duke alum who's having a hard time in the NBA (because he played for Duke and everyone resents him). This sound remotely familiar? Can anyone zap me the name of the player, and the reference for the article (e.g., date, title, author)? Need the info for a class project.

THANKS

Didn't realize there were so many Duke-haters out there but this Beacon Journal article suggests there are.

I know other teams like my alma mater Maryland are pretty jealous as reflected in this silly article from the Diamondback, normally a more thoughtful paper back in my day.

But then the felling is mutual so I wouldn't single out any school.

Curious to know what you find out.

I don't consider myself an indiscriminate "Duke Hater".For me,a lot of my virulent anti-Duke fervor exited with the 3 who left for the NBA.Now that a lot of the overrated arrogance is gone and they are taking their lumps like everyone else,I found myself liking this current team. However,in the interest of full disclosure, I gotta be honest and admit that what I really liked was watching studs like Randolph and Redick. biggrin.gif

My initial thought was that they were referring to Jay Williams in the SI article. The column from the Beacon seems to support that theory, but I think Jays' problems go deeper than just the fact he's a Duke alum. biggrin.gif
