Alert Ted Koppel! Stop the presses! Fans of the Suckramento Kings staggered everyone in the sports world with the most original chant in the history of sports..."Beat LA."
The fans went on and on with this chant until I became convinced that the only driving force in the lives of these provincial cow-town denizens is their shared, no collective, hatred towards Los Angeles. I.C. - Inferiority Complex.
Bring 'em on.

Kinda like a contributor here who goes on and on about his dislike of New York and its athletic teams, methinks. It all comes down to envy.....

hahahaha
I think I know where that one was aimed.
Oh my God that was too funny, I dont dislike New York, it's a great city, as far as skankee fans, well thats different, and my friend in Manhattan is a Red Sox fan. Envious.........not at all, quite the opposite.

The Kings earned it tonight, even though I was pulling for Dallas (oh, there's another surprise!).
These fans haven't been to the conference finals since 1981!!! And it wasn't even these same fans, because they were in Kansas City at the time. They probably looked at each other in surprise in confusion... "Duuuuuhh....what do we say now, Louie??.....Duuuuhh, I dunno, maybe Beat LA?"!

Great comments Auburn -
Somehow the chant just doesn't have the same meaning from these corn feeders as it did with Boston back in the 80's.
The envy is unbelievable. Meanwhile, back in LA we just go about our business as we flick them off like a fly on our backs.

Why do you assume it's envy from Sacramento ?
Could it be you L.A.'ers are nervous ? Kings and their fans don't seem nervous.
L.A. is the two time champ, they're the team to beat; Sacramento just got passed another round of playoffs, and both teams are in the same state, a nice rivalry; it's only natural they would chant beat L.A.

Nope, not nervous at all. We've been waiting for this matchup for a year. Bring it on.

I've said it before and I will say it again. There is not one current team in the NBA that has proven they can beat the Lakers 4 out of 7. Until they do, it's all talk.
Laker's don't get nervous, they get titles.

Oh, be nice! I cursed the Mavs so they wouldn't win!
