Who is your choice to get out of the first round in the NBA playoffs?

Did anyone stay up to see how the season ended in dramatic fashion? Kobe shot a 3 to take the game into OT. In the 2nd OT, he shot another 3 to win the game for them and deny the Kings the Pacific title, which would have gotten them a date with the Rockets. Instead, the Lakers get the Rockets and the Kings meet the Mavs. Also, there is no way the Lakers and Spurs would meet in the finals as they would take on each other in round 2 should they both defeat the Rockets and Grizzlies respectively.
I do think both series will be great because Yao vs. Shaq is always interesting and the Mavs and Kings is always a shootout.

All I can say is WOW!! What an exciting way to finish the regular season last night(4/14)! With Kobe's overtime game winning three, it sent the Lakers and not the Kings(who only needed one win this week vs either Denver or Golden State, but lost to both) to the #2 seed.
I predict some exciting basketball in both the East and the West. I predict several upsets in the East, and my only upset special in the West is the shootout between the Mavs and the Kings. This high scoring affair will probably go seven games with Mavs coming out on top. That will be the most closely matched series of any. I cant wait until this weekend begins.

The only upset I see is the Mavs over the Kings but that isn't really much of an upset given the way the Kings stumbled down the stretch.
Wonder how hard the Knicks tried to win last night against the Cavs given that a win would have made them the #6 seed and a first round matchup with the Pistons. Instead they lost to the flailing Cavs, dropped to #7 and will play the much-more-beatable Nets.
If the Lakers and Spurs play in the second round, the Spurs get home court despite being the lower seed based on their better record, right? Same with Pistons-Nets second round with the #3 Pistons getting home court?

With the Rangers in a 7 year drought from the NHL playoffs, and the Knicks making their first appearance in the NBA playoffs in a few years, I would love to see the Knicks knock off that New Jersey team in the first round. However, I would be shocked if this really happened.

George- you would be correct on both of those home court games! The Spurs would host in the second round, and the Pistons would as well based on the better records.

That is so weird. It seems like that the defeats the whole purpose of the seedings.
