Their new uniforms are so "BLAH" looking...I don't like them.
Then again,it's all a matter of individual taste.I really wasn't crazy about the old uniforms either. The sexiest uniform in MLB: The New York Yankees, with their always classical look.

Excellent topic.
I've always felt that baseball players should wear wider belts instead of those kids' cotton belts. They don't have to be leather but just wider. Does anyone else agree? Sorry, I'm just going through my Sunday morning fetish wish list.

As the article said, not much a change to the uniform sans the sleeveless version.
The new duds look pretty good to me. I like the all white uniforms, such as the Braves, Rangers, , and Indians.
Something about a tight, crisp, clean white baseball uniform well packed with a muscled baseball jock to catch my attention.
Though, there's always been something about the A's uniform that I've always liked... mmmmm
could have been the way Canseco used to fill those pants out in days gone by...or more recently, Giambi or Chavez....
The classic pin stripes of the Yanks are always a eye catcher....It's gonna be sad not to see Tino in them, but he'll be wearing the whites of St. Louis now..mmmmm And Giambi will be wearing the pin stripes.....mmmm see how things work out.

Sleeve-less is the only one I like for the Tribe.
I agree Oakland's always seemed to be the best, I don't know if it's the type of material or just the yellow color, somehow it shows their butts best. General rule, the tighter the pants the better...
I could never ever like the Yankee stripes too much hatred of the team LOL!

I too agree that the Oakland A's have the best uniforms. Years ago I was watching a Yankees-A's game being played in Oakland the the pitcher for the A's was Mike Harkey, an African-American. Through Harkey's white pants and lyra shorts (or whatever type of shorts the players wear under their pants) I could see Harkey's jockstrap. The image was very nice and Harkey is a good looking man.
I would love to have baseball player's pants made of more transparent material so as to allow the spectator to see more clearly the jock strap, like the way the jocks straps of football players can be seen.
I would love to see Carlos Delgado in a pair of nearly transparent pants while hunched near first base, his jock strap showing, visible against his beautiful black skin . . . .
I can't wait for baseball. It's a great game.
Go Mets!!

I've always thought the best looking baseball uniform is the one on the floor next to the bed. Especially with the word 'Braves' on the front and a big number 8 on the back. But hey, I'm not picky, just as long as he's ON the bed.

amazin12,
Your comment about the kids' cotton belts worn with some baseball uniforms, reminds me of the belts my teammates and I used to wear in high school with our baseball uniforms. They're so cheap looking, aren't they?
I agree with you that all baseball players should wear wider belts and yes, leather! (one of my fetishes).I was checking out some New York Yankees' photo galleries, and the players seem to be wearing wide black leather
belts. To be honest with you,I've never noticed, and I live only a couple of miles from Legends Field in Tampa,Fl.,where they come for their spring training. I'm looking forward to seeing them again this year, over there.
Although I like the Yanks' pin stripes,I especially like their light gray and navy blue road uniforms.I wish their players would go back to the navy blue stirrups with the thin white baseball socks.I hate those long and baggy pants all the way to their ankles.
One player I'm looking forward to seeing as a new Yankee,is ex-Mets
Robin Ventura.I thinks he is so HOT!

BucsMan, I don't know if you have ever been to the Hall of Fame in Cooperstown. I remember in one section seeing big pictures of team photos from way back; early 1900's I suppose. But you'll notice the players wore these real wide belts with big buckles. The belts looked leather. But their pants were quite big and baggy so hence the big belts. So I guess as years went by, the tighter and better fitting the uniform pants got, the smaller the belt got.

Hi, Copman - Cooperstown is a must for any baseball fan. The artifacts and stories behind them are completely engrossing. For those of you in NYC, the Museum of Natural History will be presenting an exhibition called Baseball as America from March through August. It will include many of the most important artifacts from the Baseball Hall of Fame. The exhibition will then travel to eight other museums throughout the country.

Amazin12,
Unfortunately,I've never been to Cooperstown, but I've seen some photos in baseball books of the ugly baggy pants and the wide belts players used to wear in the early 1900's.
Now that spring training started,
I'll have to go to Legends Field in a few days and check out the Yanks' belts more closely. As long as they're not those cheap ones, made out of whatever fabric they're made of,it's o.k. with me.
One baseball catcher that just came to mind,as far as wearing his uniform really well,is San Diego Padres' Ben Davis. He usually wears his uniform nice & tight.I love it when he wears his pants down to his knees with his
almost sheer navy blue long stirrups, tightly hugging his strong legs. What a HOT look!
