I was really hoping that Melo would win this, but LeBron did get all the press this season, and being on a slightly better team made Melo blend in more.
Congrats to LeBron...it was a close one!

FWIW -- My vote would have gone to Anthony. Helping lead a team to the playoffs is a greater achievement than being the top performer on a sub-500 team.

All are well-deserved. I really like Dwayne Wade, and think Chris Bosh has great potential. Marquis Daniels is playing really well for Dallas in the playoffs.
Second team:
Josh Howard, DAL
T.J. Ford, MIL

Jarvis Hayes, WAS
Marquis Daniels, DAL

As a Nuggets fan and Anthony supporter, I think the Nuggets showed last night why James deserved the Rookie of the Year award: they're a tough, talented team, with a very solid bench and good veteran leadership. Anthony went 1 for 16 and they were in the game against the #1 seed until the last second. Melo simply wasn't the only reason for this team's improvement - Camby can be great, Boykins is thrilling to watch, Miller is an above average poing guard, Lenard can destroy, Nene is supremely talented, and Barry is tough as nails. Give LeBron that supporting cast and there's no question about the Cavs winning 40 this year.
