It's official. It's one-and-done for Larry Brown. He has been fired and Isiah Thomas will be the new Knicks head coach.

Just when you think the Knicks can't do something more stupid... I'm glad I have minimal interest in pro basketball, but unfortunately they're my team if any is.

Who is the unlucky man to get the job next?
And why oh why is Isiah Thomas not fired?
I mean, when you think of all the hard working folks who get canned for nothing or for minor mistakes or for the boss not liking them and Thomas, who screws up everything he touches, still has a job ... no justice in the world.

Oh come on, you really think they could have kept Brown after the way he trashed the entire team, including all the mid-season acquisitions that he asked for? Not that I'm saying Isiah the Rube is going to do a better job, but they had to get rid of Brown.
Edited to add that my post was in reply to WChip. Ms. de Blazer, I agree with you about Thomas -- he's a disaster. And so is Dolan.

They haven't been worth paying attention to, but as Ms de Blazer stated, it's hard to believe people other than Isiah are canned first.

Being a Nets fan (as well as a fan of karma), there has been nothing finer than the last three years of the New York Knicks. It's almost as good as watching the Nets win a championship to see Thomas decimate this team, the fan base, and the basketball spirit of NYC. See y'all in Brooklyn! I'll be sitting next to Jay-Z!

The nerve of the Knicks. First, they offer Brown a monster contract to get him to come to New York. Then they give him a crappy team, and fire him for not getting enough wins in his first season. But
now they're trying to chisel him out of the money he's owned... claiming he "violated" team policy by giving interviews without a PR person present.

Let's see if I have this straight: giving an interview without a PR person in tow is a violation of team policy but sexual harassment (charges against Isiah Thomas are pending) isn't? To quote Bugs Bunny: Easy, stomach.

David Stern should fine the Knicks for stupidity and for wasting his time with this mess.

Stern should seize the Knicks, fire their entire front office and coach, and gift the team to a new owner.
As for Brown, his alleged breaches also include shopping his players during the season, behind Thomas's back. That wasn't Brown's job -- Thomas is fully capable of making hilarious trades on his own.
The organization is run by a bunch of buffoons, but I have very little sympathy for Brown, especially after he squeezed a $7m. buyout from the Pistons. Now he's going to squeeze out a much bigger buyout, all so that he can look for his 5786th team to coach next season or the year after.
