Full Version: MVP?

At one point I thought K40 had it all locked up with his string of 40+ games lifiing the Lakers into the playoff contention but then I look and over the same time KG has been incredible and TMac is averaging more than 30 and 10 assists over his last five games. I just can't decide. This is one of the few recent seasons in which the award could go to one of five guys and no one would complain. I' m still biased against Kobe because Shaq makes everything easier and TMac and KG are essentially by themselves making things happen. What do you guys think and no GP43 you can't say Payton because you know it's not true :-)

Though his supporting cast gets a better grade than TMac's. I'd have to vote KG as MVP for his play on both sides of the ball. A double-double is the least that is expected of him night in and night out. However, I wouldn't be surprised to see TMac get it because (prior to Gooden and Giricek's arrival) he' been a one man show in Orlando. Also, his generosity to Iran, the 13 year old shot by the D.C. snipers could garner him some votes of sentiment.

After Ray Allen gets the Sonics to the finals I will say Ray Allen for MVP. Drew Gooden is helping out T-Mac enough to maybe help the Magic go to the finals, so maybe it will be T-Mac this year. Here is my list so far. If GP can help the Bucks get into contention for the Eastern Conference title I would put GP there too.
#1 Duncan
#2 T-Mac
#3 Kobe
#4 Ray Allen
#5 Nowitzki
#6 KG

Wow I'm watching the T-wolf and Sonics game and what a show Allen and KG are putting on. The MVP for the month vs. the MVP of the week.
Still in the 1st quarter
Ray Allen with 10 points 4 rebounds and 1 assist
KG with 4-4-1

Even w/ Shaqs help, Kobe is still playing MVP style! When any player performs as well as Kobe did in Feburary, it shouldn't matter who is on his team! If it does, all you are saying is "Shaq should be the MVP, Otherwise Kobe couldn't be so AWESOME!" Discussion closed! Choose 1 brothers!

Well the Sonics controlled KG and the Wolves pretty well tonight, they are now 6-1 since the trade. Here is the comparision between the two MVP candidates stats.
Rebounds Assist Steals Points
KG 11 - 3 - 2 - 22
RA 9 - 6 - 3 - 29

Lakersdabomb,
Shaq is like Jordan, every year he suits up he should be MVP but then if that happened the race would be boring :-)
As for Kobe, he might suffer the way Pippen did. Because of who he plays with, his career comes with an asterick. Remember the Lakers don't win with Kobe alone but they can with only Shaq. The only reason why he's in this discussion is because of his run of 40+ points and his team still has to make the playoffs; Seattle and Golden State are surging, Phoenix is returning to its earlier form and Houston is still hanging around. K40 may need to go off for another two weeks to get his boys in there.

In my opinion....the MVP is Reggie Miller...just joking.

My picks...

KG
T-Mac
Duncan

KG has done everything for the Wolves...I think he is truly the best all around player that there is. If it weren't for him, the Wolves wouldn't stand a chance.
