Can't accuse the Phillies of not knowing how to tackle. Even if it's on the way to the pitcher's mound rather than the uprights.

The multi-talented Mike Lieberthal takes down Adam Dunn as he charges Silva for throwing a pitch behind him.

To be fair Dunn says he thinks it started when he bowled over Lieberthal coming into homeplate earlier. So what are you suppose to do coming into home?
The story
Joe in Philly
When you're ahead by nine runs? It's debatable whether you should really crash into the catcher. What was really stupid was that he was waved home by the third-base coach. He had no shot at getting there before the ball. None whatsoever. If the game was close and he did that there'd be a new third-base coach out there on my team.

You're probably right about them rubbing in the fact they were way ahead, but on the other hand the 3rd base coach may have felt they had nothing to loose by risking him getting tagged out at home, so why not go for it.

Not to argue, but since the game wasn't close that's a mute point. What may have incensed the "South Phillies" is the sight of the 6'6" 250lb Dunn trampling the 6'(generously), 195lb Lieberthal unnecessarily. Not to mention that ML is by far the more expensive property. wink
