So says the Boston Globe. A press conference is scheduled for 6 pm.

Edited to add: they had a graphic on Comcast Sportsnet saying that in the Leastern Conference since the end of the 2002-03 season, every team except one has changed coaches!

The longest tenured coach in the Eastern Conference is Terry Stotts of the pathetic Atlanta Hawks. Can't see him lasting the season.

O'Brien certainly is not Phil Jackson or Red Auerbach, but he didn't trade Walker for LaFrentz or go out and obtain Ricky Davis.

Almost all the teams in the Eastern Conference have made coaching changes in the past year. What a mess!

We Celtics fans have already began to prepare for another 4-5 years like the ones that we had in the 90s. We knew this when Mr. Ainge traded Antoine Walker. My allegiance to the Celtics will not die down, however, it's just going to be a painful couple of years. DAMN THAT DANNY AINGE!!! To make a great Coach like Jim O'Brien retire. What an AWFUL year for my boys in green!!!!

Kid, you see that last second shot your boy Antoine Walker sank against the Sonics last night? What a finish! biggrin.gif
