Full Version: Michael Jordan's last game (unless he un-retires again)

It's Wednesday night against the 76ers at the First Union Center, now that the Wizards have been officially eliminated from the playoffs. (Naturally, it'll be on ESPN.)

Meanwhile, his number was retired tonight...by the Miami Heat. I wonder if the rest of the league will do this?

Seems odd that the Heat would retire his number. No other team has done that as yet. And it's a half Bulls/half Wizards jersey! Nice gesture though.

I'd actually like to see MJ come back next year. The guy can still flat out play. But it seems unlikely he'll change his mind.

I'm not sure what the league's policy is on retiring numbers. But if anybody is deserving of such an honor, it's Michael Jordan.

I hope he lives up to his retirement pledge this time; just as Mario Lemieux's on-ice career shouldn't have finished the way it has, Jordan's on-court career shouldn't be watching younger (and occasionally less skilled) players show him up. I wonder whether he'll stay in the Wizards' front office or whether he'll return to the Bulls--or if he'll consider an offer from his alma mater.
