1. Duke: Monique Currie is the real deal and The Devils have tons of talent coming back. Lindsey Harding will be back at PG along with top recruits Gay and Wainer. Bass, Foley, Bales, Smith, etc. are hungry for a national title. This could finally be the year for the Duke women's program!
2. Tennessee: All the freshman will be sophomores and Candace Parker will finally play. Shanna Zolman will need to be a senior leader.
3. Georgia: Tasha Humphrey had the skills to lead the Lady Bulldogs to a NCAA title. The guards are solid with Hardrick, Chambers, Baker and Penn State transfer Recicina Russell and a top freshman class will challenge Tennessee and LSU in the SEC.
4. Rutgers: Cappie Pointdexter is back along with Carson, Avajon, and Michelle Campbell. Kia Vaughn is a great freshman coming into the program. Rutgers could get back to the final four.
5. Baylor: Defending national champs and Sophia Young will lead the way. Look for Chameka Scott, Latoya Wyatt, and Emily Neimann to make huge contributions.
6. North Carolina : Has the most talent on paper but not sure if will win the national title. Hopefully will put it all together with Ivory Latta leading the way.
7. LSU : Has Ms. Seimone Augustus back along with Sholonda Hoston and Sylvia Fowles. LSU just needs to find a PG which might be Erica White.
8. Michigan State: Made it to the finals and had a great season last year. The team still will be okay with Liz Shimek, Victoria Lucas-Perry, Rene Hayes, and Lindsey Bowen. Tiffany Shavies will be an exciting freshman to watch.
9. Ohio State : Jessica Davenport is the great presence in the middle. Team lost some great players but can challenge Michigan State in the Big 10.
10. Texas Tech : Big 12 favorite along with Baylor and LaToya Davis, Darice Griffin, and Erin Grant lead the way for the Lady Raiders.
Other teams to look at: UCONN, Maryland, North Carolina State, DePaul, USC, Stanford, and UCLA.
