It is being billed as perhaps the best matchup of the whole basketball season. The top-ranked Duke Blue Devils play host to second-ranked UConn tomorrow night. Cameron Indoor Arena will be going crazy, and the students will be out to prove Geno wrong. He says that Cameron is not such a scary place to play. The man does know how to ratchet up the hype and get more people to tune in.

Gail Goestenkors will have her team tuned up and ready to go. They have played very well in their big games this year. NC State did hold them in check a couple of nights ago, and lost only by ten. However, I think the Duke stars respond very well to the big games.

UConn has their mammoth win streak on the line. I am sure they do not want that to come to an end. However, if Diana Taurasi has to carry the team in this game, they will lose. Duke really has too much firepower (just ask Tennessee).

And, not only do we get the 1 vs 2 matchup, but we get the two players considered to be the best in the land by many. Alana Beard is only a junior, but is quite possibly headed to player of the year honors. She is amazing both offensively and defensively. Taurasi has taken the UConn team and made it her own. She can be a scoring maching. However, she tends to struggle a little in the really big moments. Without a strong supporting cast, Geno may be wondering how he will ever stop the Devils.

My prediction: Duke in a close affair.

I HATE UCONN!!!!!

Duke looked HORRIBLE! They have been struggling a lot lately. It would not surprise me to see them lose again in the near future.

Anyway... We have a tough game tomorrow against Vandy. They always play us tough. That damn Chantelle! I actually like her.

Duke looked nothing like they did when I went to see them knock-out the Vols earlier in the season. I think they got a little too psyched out about the occasion.

Still, when you think about it, they showed the potential to win anyway. They were behind by 28 in the second half and closed to within 7 at one point. If they had played more steady from the beginning, I think they would have taken the game.

I have been waiting for one of those SEC teams to actually challenge the Vols. There are some teams that are playing great ball. However, when they match up against the orange, they seem to forget how good they are.

Vandy has played bridesmaid an awful lot. Not sure they are up for the win tomorrow.
