Full Version: Dominating Duke

I don't know how many of you guys watched the Duke @ Tenn. WBC yesterday on ESPN2 but I was impressed with Duke. For losing Alana Beard and Iciss Tillis and Lindsey Harding(point guard) being indefinitely suspended, they Bluedevils looked good. I can see Duke continuing to have some success and do well this season. It was only a few years ago that they only had 8 players and they made it to the final four. I just love Monique Currie's game and Mistie Williams(formerly Bass) looked really good too.

Tenn. looked horrible at times and great as times too. They are shooting worst than ever in their history and they don't have Candace Parker from injury but i heard she will be back right before the UCONN game..

UCONN also didn't look great against South Florida, #3 Notre Dame lost, #6 Georgia has lost like 2 in a row. There really seems to be parity in the women's game this year and hopefully it will continue to stay that way.

Should be an interesting season but don't think i have lost faith in the perennial powerhouses though..lol..it is early.

I left a comment on the Tenn # 1 thread. I was quite surprised and the media took it like, ho hum Duke beat Tenn at Tenn.

It was more about Tenn looking weak than Duke looking great. But still your point is well taken. Duke has had a tough schedule and have only lost at ND this year after losing the hear and sole of last year's team. And you're right about Currie. Shades of Elaina at the end there. I expect UNC will take the ACC this year but Duke should at least make it tough.
