The 5K mark has been breached by George vikingfan! How did everyone miss this momentous occasion, which actually occurred 11 days ago? (Is it because you're all paying too much attention to me? And not the kind of attention I need, either? eek! )

Congrats to one of Outsports' wittiest minds!

11 days ago would be Black Friday, Nov. 26th. Let's see, many of us were sleeping off the pound of turkey we ate the night before. Some were on a marathon shop till we drop routine. I was primping myself for a fabulous night of drinking (ok 1 hour) with Pat125 and Cattledog, and also packing for British Columbia. Joe, you were probably trulling the Jeremy Roenick fan sites for more shirtless pictures of JR. tongue.gif

So it's pretty obvious how we all missed the actual post 5000.... but unfortunate that we did not acknowledge it until today. George, belated congrats on hitting post 5,000. Now for your next trick, can you QB the Vikings so they actually can win a Superbowl? I'd love to see Sting, in his platinum wig and pumps, dancing down Hennepin Avenue in -20 degree weather during the celebration. biggrin.gif
Adam
He crossed the mark 11 days back and is now at just 5036. He's slowing down. Anyway, congratulations George--though I have the feeling Joe started this thread to pad his total as he careens towards the 10000 mark. tongue.gif

I hadn't even realized that I'd hit the 5K mark until seeing this thread! Thanks for noting it guys! Outsports and many of my fellow posters have been a wonderful addition to my life. Love having a place to talk sports with other gay guys.

As for slowing down, I choose to think I go for quality rather than quantity! wink tongue.gif biggrin.gif

I'd like to raise this issue at the next Outsports Convention.

Did GVF really hit the 5K mark on November 26,2004? I think not because I remember after the Vikes got drilled by the Eagles, GVF became GeorgeEaglesFan for a time. So -- I am raising an objection because I don't think his posts as GEF should count toward his GVF total.

Since we have a number of lawyers in our Outsports Community, I suggest that bballrob and GatorJamie argue this issue. I'm imagining MIB presiding over a hearing with bballrob's southern charm and good looks vs. GatorJamie's keen intellect and sharp wit (and,of course, ravishingly beautiful looks).

Possible jurors: The Ump, Veritas (oh wait, wouldn't the Judge and Jury be the same person?)

Mr. Speaker, I rise in vehement and total unholy opposition to the Objection. The member from Pennsylvania's point is moot! Moot I tells ye! Regardless of what the honorable member from New Jersey's display name is, the post total goes by your login name.

Should my several weeks of wedded bliss as Mrs. PhillyFan be exorcised from the public record? Should the gentleman from Washington, Mr. RockinSonics, be relegated to minion status (under 1,000 tongue.gif ), as he has had more screennames than Trudi Chase had personalities? Should we combine the total MIB/Veritas/GOP/XYZ or the total number of bluebird and "baby bluebird" postings together and thereby raise their totals close to the 5,000 mark? Methinks not!

Even if one takes away the number of "EagleFan" postings from Mr. VikingFan's total, that amount clearly could not exceed the 52 additional posting over 5,000 that have been recorded. I urge the chamber to vote against this frivilous motion, grant Mr. VikingFan the honor of 5,000 posts, and I yield back the balance of my time to the Chair. Thank you. tongue.gif

I think I'm more qualified to be the judge in this case...or any case, actually, but this one in particular.

BPT - I am impressed! Someone has been studying Robert's Rules of Order. All excellent points. But, I still think we need a trial. It's the only way I know to ensure that bballrob,GatorJamie and MIB will be at the Convention. We may even be able to get our hands on Rehnquist's striped Robe for MIB (who will have to change, again, his name to MIBWS; Man In Black With Stripes) -- since he's not using it these days.

And on another note (since I recall you had a camera at the tailgate party), let me just confirm that you don't have any photos of ANY alleged GVF/Stinger touchdowns from the Linc Parking Lot Match and please also confirm that there is no other direct evidence that GVF and Sting actually won that match.
PhillyFan
MD, there are no pictures of that event. The only football i remember playing was out front of the hotel where JIP hit PF on the slant and I was off for the TD.

I must say this about GVF/GEF...

I liked him much better as the GEF. I also concur that this has to be worked out, as Eagle posts are MUCH different then Vike posts. If i remember correctly he posted ALOT as GEF. I'd say close to 150 posts. That clearly puts him under 5k.

Yeah, puckman!! Your Chiefs should have a special night honoring you. And may you find Joe Sakic (swoon!) waiting there to help you celebrate.

Congratulations on reaching 5000! However, before you ask for your reward, you should find out what it is. There could be rewards some posters might offer you that you might want to decline wink

That's right Bobby!! You've reached another Outsports milestone! Let me tell you now what your choice of prizes is. First you can have the date with Joe in Philly that canmark turned down in another thread, plus this money roll which starts with a $1 bill and contains 9 other bills behind it.

Or you can take what's behind curtain #2.

Which do you choose?? biggrin.gif

Hummmm...Joe in Philly went thru a phase recently when he was calling himself Susan Lucci in Philly so that calls into question his mental stability...plus, it just screams DRAMA. So, give me what's behind Curtain #2. smile.gif

Whatever happened to personal responsbility and taking responsibility for your own actions? I don't believe you are calling Cyd a "freak" just to make yourself look good. tongue.gif How do you spell D-R-A-M-A?? tongue.gif

Well Bobby, you made the right choice. Not because Joe is a Drama Queen or Diva, but because he'd make you pay for the date with your bankroll of cash. Unfortunately, the one dollar bill was followed by nine other $1 bills for a total of $10. Not even enough to get a couple of subs at Wawa.

So let's see what's behind curtain #2...

(Audience oooohs )

Indeed it's your very own Florida Gators sweatshirt being modeled by the ravishingly beautiful GatorJamie!! This 90% polyester sweatshirt, in traditional orange and blue, features a slogan that says, "Teenysee Sucks, Auburn Swallows." and it comes in your size, extra extra extra large! tongue.gif

But wait there's more! You also get a year's supply of Rice o Roni, the San Francisco treat, this set of used Ginsu knives, and an autographed picture of Susan Powter!!! eek! Total manufacturers retail selling price of your deal, $32.78!!!

Congratulations Bobby!!! wink

What GREAT prizes BPT336!

That was a real Knee-Knocker!

Keep them coming!
BPT-336
When is my beloved ole PF coming back? sad.gif This doppleganger is frightening me. eek!
PhillyFan
BPT336, Those prizes are still great!

Maybe there should be an open-round-table discussion to have you lead the prize giveaways for the next big NCAA Womens bracket challenge?

How EXCITING would that be?

Once again, keep up the great work!

I want to date everyone on this board! (Except that "Bo In Phillie" character who showed up recently -- he seems to be really twisted.) Problem is, no one wants to date me. eek!
