any conflict here? Are Pohlad and Selig just looking out for each other, rather than the best interests of baseball?

I am shocked, shocked that you would impugn the rep of Beelzebud, the Man Who Is Trying to Save Baseball!

I think Selig is doing a good job of digging himself a bigger hole and making himself look like more of an idiot every day....it is clear that he is simply a puppet for the owners who made sure one of "their own" was in charge after they unfairly ousted Fay Vincent, who stood up for what was right for the GAME, not what would put the most money in his or his friends pockets....this whole contraction scenario thought up by Selig and his cronies is producing evidence of the biggest coverup and lies since Watergate.

I think this whole thing stinks to high heaven. Selig has always struck me a sleazy used car salesman - which is what he is - and this episode pretty much bears that out. So sad to see the other owners all springing to his defense, but clearly they know where their bread is buttered. It would be great if the press really ran with this story and put pressure on Selig to step aside. Rudy Giuliani's looking for a job ......

Ted, Rep. John Conyers of Michigan (the House Judiciary Committee's ranking Democrat) publicly called for Selig to resign on Wednesday, prompting a rare response from the commish -- I guess Bud figured he actually had to come up with some convoluted statement as a (poor) attempt to defend his indefensible actions....the link below describes the details of the Congressman's request and Selig's responses.
