Just read that John Rocker, that beloved hunk of a racist, has been sent to the Rangers minor league team in Oklahoma, after blowing a save last night.

Good Riddens!!!

Perhaps, rather than conjuring up a blighted destiny for John Rocker, we as gay sports lovers can envision the best of all possible scenarios for the boy. It's not entirely unlikely that the guy, like many of those who 'doth protest too much' would actually benefit by embracing what he believes he fears. Imagine this: in the Minor Leagues, John Rocker meets another teammate, the Man of His Dreams who, of course, turns out to be some studly & muy hermoso gay catcher from Puerto Rico or the Dominican Republic, whose tough love turns Rocker's pitching career completely around and gives him the courage to become the first Major Leaguer to come out while an active player. Both of them are traded to the Mets, where in New York City they initiate a charitable organization funding services for AIDS patients, immigrants, the homeless, drug rehabilitation, single mothers, gay/les/bi/trans youth, and gay partnership, adoption and parenting rights. They become heroes of the New York sports realm during the World Series against the Yankees, by riding the subways to the games, in uniform, standing proudly man-to-man, and triumphing over the Yanks because of their brilliant athletic prowess.
Okay, I admit this script is schmaltzier by far than any schlocky, baseball-themed movie as yet dreamed-up by Hollywood, but, where's the harm in fantasizing John's complete spiritual transformation? Oh, lordy...

Hey FC, admit it, you are Rob Mariano!

I loved your story about how John Rocker will fulfill his destiny. The only thing I have a problem with is......... he's supposed to be MY lover not some dominican.

oof! What I would do to that bullneck mug of his, and those luscious bootie cheeks calling to me....
ursaminorjim
Well, at least he has his film career to fall back on. Just like Hulk Hogan in Mr. Nanny!

That's all dreamy and great Fielder....

But,

You left out the punk kids with blue hair?

What can we get our John-boy do for them?

Lots-of-us
I can't imagine why the Rangers would send Rocker down. His ERA at 9.53 is better than the Ranger's bullpen, at 11.80. Tee-hee.

Go Mariners!!

Absolutely, Tom, I'll confess to being R.M.-- I'm the scrawny, bald, 46-year-old, never-destined-for-celebrity-status OTHER Rob Mariano. It took me a bit of researching to learn who you were speaking about (I'm afraid I haven't watched any of the "Survivor" programs so, at first I thought you might be referring to a Major League ballplayer I hadn't heard of before.) Now that I've seen his photo, I'll glady take the compliment but, unfortunately, I'm bound to tell the truth and say that I've never looked that good, not even in my most flattering wet-dreams.

Give them bear-hugs and sloppy kisses on the subway, of course! (Thanks for reminding me of my omission, satxbuddy...) Blessings, sports enthusiasts.
Tom
Hey FC, thanks for thanking me, but the joke was that Rob Mariano is the John Rocker of Survivor, and he lives in the south shore. So you would have had to undergo a conversion like the one you attribute to Rocker, and... never mind
Anyway, "scrawny, bald, 46-year-old, never-destined-for-celebrity-status" you may be, but if you live in North Harwich you're a lucky guy and I'm sure lots of hotties are knocking at your door.

Well the bad thing is he's comming to Oklahoma, (if he reports). The good thing is he's not comming here to Tulsa. Although, if he did, I could tell him the condo nextdoor is for rent. We always get the good guys through here. Kapler, Sosa, McGuire. They never seem to stay, oh well.

Either you scare them away or you wear them out, thumper!
