OK I am seriously getting pissed about the sheer number of spyware, adware, and mal ware I am getting from outsports. I really enjoy coming here but it has caused some major issues with my computer. What is up with the latest ones now where my entire screen says ADVERTISE ON OUTSPORTS with a link? I understand about ad revenue etc, but what is going on!! am I only going to be able to log on here from my MAC at home?

Hmmmmm. I've haven't had any problems at all Jim. After the Amex ad and the buzzing ads were taken care of it's been clear sailing for me.

That is strange. Since the horrendous problems with the Amex fiasco, I have had no problems at all, just one minor exception, but that was weeks ago...that is strange.

Jim:
We have no idea what you are seeing as we removed the ads weeks ago that were causing problems.

I think I got that once, some time ago. I think it was just a fluky thing either with slowness on the server or the browser. I think I just closed the window and re-opened it or something, and had no other problems.

Lets hope.... I run a mac at home, but use dells for the office and my laptop... I have never had it happen before. But it was the entire page turning into one full page ad for stuff with an advertise on outsports link. I ran a second virus scan and a 3rd spybot for the day, and left the office so hopefully it will go away....

A screen saying ADVERTISE ON OUTSPORTS? I have no idea what that could be. It is at the very bottom right of pages, but a screen that says it? I have to believe it was a glitch.
We have been very diligent about keeping spyware and malware off the site since the last round of them. As always, if you encounter them, please let us know, as we do not want them on the site. Thanks!

I get that all the time (and I do mean ALL the time!!!)... but hitting the back button on the browser seems to take care of it. Doing this 15-20 times every time I log on gets REAL old, though. Any way that can be avoided with the move to the new board?

We still have no clue how you get a link that covers your entire screen since we have no ad or promo like that. We hope the new board will eliminate any such issues.

I have no idea WTF is going on, but the situation is TEN times worse tonight. It can't get fixed soon enough IMHO.

I havent seen any pop ups since that Amex thing went away. Are you sure you're getting them through Outsports? Have you tried Spysweeper?

The Western Union snow globe ad is not a pop-up per se it's more of a pop-over that pops up when the page refreshes. It's pretty agressive popping up with my work computer.

The Western Union ad is popping up whenever I refresh the screen or go to another IE window.
It is a pretty bad ad that has been happening the last day and half so far...
Oh well- at least it doesn't Buzz Buzz Buzz
Just popped up while typing this

The only ad I see for Western Union is a regular old banner ad with a snowglobe and the message "shake things up for the holidays" -- the snowglobe says on it "click and shake" but when I move my cursor over it, it disappears. When you click it just taks you to their website. It's not making any noise. It's not a popup ad or anything like that.

Amen. I go on the page, and it's this humongous thing covering the entire screen! It's got to GO!
Please.
Oh yes, let me harken back to days of old. When I could open Outsports at work without fear that some naked man might appear on screen. Way back when when I didn't need any help to find a 'masseur' or the best jockstrap ever. When I was able to click 'close' on an ad and it stayed close.
