Despite a so-so start by future Cy winner Tim Hudson,
Moneyball hero and submariner Chad Bradford threw a victorious inning of relief, and playoff scapegoat Eric Byrnes pinch-doubled for
Oakland's opening win over a Texas team that still needs
all 91 of those wins. (And if Jeff Nelson continues to relieve, on Labor Day they'll need about 45 of them.)

"Shall we start 29 other team threads, or is this one necessary simply because the Yankees are bigger than baseball"
This was the quote made by BillW on Feb. 25 when I started the Yankees thread with no malice intended.
A thread was also started by BillW titled "All-season baseball single-team threads..." stating that they "SUCK"--(BillW, Mar. 03).
Yet here we are in a single-team baseball thread started by BillW. I guess we Yankee fans can be called "obnoxious"--(BillW, Feb. 25) and "ignorant"--(BillW, Apr. 07). But I suppose we should take the high road and not use the word "hypocrite", huh?

I've gone nuclear, is all. You wanna start team threads? We started team threads.
